Eric Anthony Janicki[2] (born: July 12, 1991 (1991-07-12) [age 34])[citation needed] is an American[citation needed] YouTuber, fitness influencer and bodybuilder. He is known for his videos revolving around fitness, such as providing tips on how to do the correct movements, and listing his favorite workouts. He specializes in hypertrophy training, which is the breaking down of more muscle fibers to ensure they grow back thicker and stronger, ensuring greater muscle mass.[citation needed]

Personal life[]

Eric was born in Evanston, Illinois, to Paul Janicki, an architect, and Kristin Anderson, a floral designer.[3] He grew up with his older brother Ian. He attended Claremont McKenna College in 2009 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and accounting, with a minor in finance, in the year 2013. During his time in college, he played varsity football for the CMS football team[4], worked as a lifeguard for the city of Evanston, an accounting intern for Anonymous Content, and an analyst for Merril Lynch.[citation needed]

He made the move to Los Angeles to work as a private client associate for AllianceBernstein, before eventually pursuing a career in the fitness industry (specifically bodybuilding), setting up companies including Faction Training and Eric Janicki Fitness.[5]

YouTube career[]

Eric created his channel on April 2, 2014, but hasn't uploaded his first video until 2020. His early videos consisted of challenge-like content, sometimes collaborating and being featured on channels including Carter Sharer and Stove's Kitchen. [citation needed]

Eric later began to post fitness videos, and ocassionally short skits (which are also popular on Instagram and Tik Tok). His viewership and subscriber count rose significantly in 2023 due to his collaboration with Greg Doucette. [citation needed]
