Фудбалски Клуб Будућност Подгорица (English: Football Club Budućnost Podgorica), is a Montenegrin professional football club from Podgorica playing in the Montenegrin First League. The club is also a most successful Montenegrin champion together with Sutjeska Nikšić.

History[]

The club was founded in 1925 as a workers' sports club under the name of Zora. In 1927, the club officially played in the national championship. In 1928, the club changed its name to Budućnost. In 1937 the club changed its name to Crna Gora. In 1941, the club suspended its activities due to World War II, which started in 1939. In 1945, after the end of the conflict, the club returned as the football club and reverted to its former name Budućnost, which it still uses today. The club became professional in 1946 when it was promoted to the Yugoslav First League. After the break-up of Yugoslavia in 1992, the club started playing in the Serbian and Montenegrin First League. In 2006, after the declaration of independence by Montenegro from Serbia, the club started playing in the first league, from which it has never been relegated. The club won 5 national championships and 4 national cups.
