Fantastic Adventures was an American children's oriented YouTube channel. The founder of the channel is Machelle Hobson † (1969, 1970, or 1971 - November 12, 2019 [aged 48-50]), who does the behind the scenes for the videos, with the children (Felipe, Summer, Elijah, Hailey, Jacob, Grayson and one unidentified child) in the videos being adopted.[2]

Channel History[]

The channel was terminated due to not following Youtube's guidelines regarding Child abuse.

Machelle Hosbon was then charged with Child abuse along with her grown up children due to failling to report the abuse to authorities but charges against the children were dropped. Hosbon died from a non-trauma-related brain injury in November 12, 2019, at the hospital after being charged.[3][4]

From some screenshots, the channel is verified but the comments are disabled either due to the charges for Hobson or the general goal of refusing comments on children's channels.[5] People can tell that the highest subscriber count is from July 2018 to August 2018 at around 800k subscribers.

The channel was terminated on March 20, 2019 according to SocialBlade.

History[]

Little is known about the Hobson's past. However, it is known that she had two sons before she married Gino Valerio, a former Marine Corps serviceman. She was later divorced, re-married and moved to Arizona.

Controversy[]

Child abuse and neglect[]

Hobson was exposed for abusing her children off-camera at around March of 2019. However, there were also two adults who are Hobson's sons that were involved. There were also various news sources that covered this incident including Philip DeFranco, CNN, BBC, Buzzfeed, Insider, NBC, People, Inside Edition, etc.[6] However, the news sources reported on her earlier crimes, and there was an interview with another YouTuber family group called ExtremeToys TV who worked with Fantastic Adventures in the past who were surprised by her actions.

Hobson would later get arrested after being reported by her two biological daughters to the police for suspicions of child abuse and would later get transferred to a hospital where Hobson would die.[7]

The whereabouts of the children are currently unknown.
