Fatty Spins (stylized as FAttY SPiNS) was an American musical band best known for their song "Doin' Your Mom".

About[]

Fatty Spins was active from 2009 to 2010, and consisted of three members: Aubrey Nicholson (Breeze the Beat Machine), Nicholas Smith (Micfri), and Ray William Johnson. They released songs onto YouTube and other platforms, including "Doin' Your Mom" (2009), which has become engraved as an internet meme in modern internet culture.

History[]

Fatty Spins was started in 2009, and created their YouTube channel on May 17 of that year.[1]

The music video for "Doin' Your Mom" was released on July 1, 2009 on Ray William Johnson's channel.[2] The uploads of the music video have since amassed millions of views, and the phrase "doing your mom" has become a large part of modern internet humor and communication. The sound of Johnson saying "doin' ya mom" in a distinct voice has also been used in many internet memes.

Fatty Spins broke up following royalty disputes in early 2010. Micfri, disgruntled by the project's demise, would later create another Fatty Spins channel and reupload the group's songs to make profit.[3]
