Fifth Harmony, often shortened to 5H, is an American girl group based in Miami, consisted of Ally Brooke, Normani, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui, and previously Camila Cabello. Cabello left the group in December 2016. The group signed a joint record deal with Syco Records, owned by Simon Cowell, and L.A. Reid's label Epic Records following their formation and third-place finish in the second season of US version of The X Factor in 2012.
Prior to the release of their extended play Better Together, the group released their lead single, "Miss Movin' On."
The group's debut studio album, Reflection, was released in 2015 and was given a gold certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It spawned the singles "Boss," "Sledgehammer," and "Worth It," the latter of which was certified three times platinum by the RIAA and peaked in the top ten in thirteen countries.
In 2016, the group released "Work from Home", the lead single from their second album 7/27, which became the best-selling single by a girl group of all time; with sales of 10 million, the song peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the first top five single by a girl group in a decade on that chart.
They released their self-titled third album in 2017.
In March 2018, the group took a break so that the members could work on solo projects.
With an estimated 33 million copies sold, Fifth Harmony is one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. They have sold close to 15 million RIAA certified units. Additionally, Time referred to them as arguably "the biggest girl group in the world" in 2017.[1] Billboard named them the biggest girl group of the 2010s.[2]
