Kassima "Kassie" Isabelle (born: December 19, 1990), better known online as Gloom (formerly CloudyApples), is a Canadian YouTuber known for her reaction, gaming, skits and Life Hack videos.
History[]
She first introduced herself online in 2011 on CloudyApples, a lifestyle-themed YouTube channel. She took a two-year break but then returned in 2013, not before deleting all her own videos. Eventually she decided to move on, and created another channel in 2015, called "GloomGames", which later became just Gloom, which mostly consisted of gaming and commentary videos, but now includes skits, vlogs, and also parody arts-and-crafts and cooking videos under her alias "Kartha Gewart", a satirical version of the well-known Martha Stewart, just replacing the initials of Martha Stewart with "KG" which references her real name and online name together: Kassie Gloom.
Personal Life[]
Kassie grew up with three siblings; an older brother, a younger sister, and an older sister. She was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, but spent most of her childhood in Singapore. After returning to Canada, she started elementary school, where she was often bullied due to her physical appearance resembling that of a Chinese person. She started to combat this with violence as her self-esteem went down.
During middle school, she met a girl named Ashleigh, who became her best friend. Near the end of Kassie's middle school years, Ashleigh switched schools and Kassie's family encountered problems that caused more anxiety for her. She didn't open up to others as she didn't want them to feel pity for her.
Kassie described her high school years as a nightmare. She skipped her classes more than she attended them in her final two years and she wouldn't take care of herself. She later learned that she and her sister both had clinical depression.
She went to college with her brother, where she improved her grades and got scholarships along with an invite to a university.
Within the first few months of her first semester in university, she ran into numerous health issues which caused her to feel fatigued and insecure. She tried battling her depression with anti-depressants which made her feel suicidal, spontaneous, and irritable. After getting severe emotional difficulties, she withdrew from university and went on numerous diets only to worsen her situation. She soon gave up her dietary habits and medications, and in her case, she explains that it was an incredible impact on her life. She later returned to university. Her younger sister committed suicide in the summer of 2013, when she was around 21 years old.[1]
She met a friend of her older brother named Teebs Liebersteen, who became her boyfriend at some point in time. His nickname is Terry and they are currently engaged. Around Mid-November, Kassie had bought a puppy, Anjing, a German shepherd. Anjing means "dog" in Malay. Anjing was also the name of her Bulldog that she had back in childhood. Her 16-year-old dog, Twinkie, passed away on December 15, 2020.
On January 8, 2022, Kassie announced in a video titled "Signing Off" that she was taking an extended break due to stress from a scary situation, in which she thought she had breast cancer, along with the fact that cancer is prominent in her family history. After much panic and some tests, it was revealed that the lump in her breast was simply a cyst. In said video, Kassie also revealed that she had an aunt who was also named Kassima, who passed away from cancer.[2]
In June 2022, a hoax began where many sites state Kassie had passed away from cancer. However, these posts have since been debunked as a hoax as she confirmed in her "Signing Off" video that she does not have cancer and neither her family nor friends have confirmed this.[3][4][5][6]
As of late 2023, Kassie is still on hiatus on all platforms. However, she has occasionally responded to posts of her friends on Twitter, and has liked posts there as well.

- Her username is suspected to be named after a Pokémon known as Gloom, which is Grass and Poison type.
- Kassie is of Chinese, Malay Singaporean, British and Italian descent, roughly a quarter each.
- Kassie collaborated on a video with Shakira, which is called "Reacting with Shakira to Her Old Videos!".
- Kassie suffers from clinical depression.
- On March 27, 2019, Kassie got a tattoo on her right arm in remembrance of her deceased sister.[1]
- In her video "I'm Coming Out", Kassie came out as pansexual.
- Kassie occasionally collaborates with AzzyLand, Bijuu Mike, LaurenzSide, and Kubz Scouts, referring to them as her "YouTube Besties".
- Kassie is a Christian and was baptized when she was 2 years old.
- Kassie is left-handed.
- Kassie has acrophobia, the fear of heights.
- She also hates iced tea. In her March 2020 video "We Tried The Death Straw /w @Azzyland", she states that it was "her first time drinking iced tea in 16 years", due to a traumatic tea experience in middle school.[7]
- Her favorite animals are skunks.
- In 2018, Kassie was part of the casting crew for the Fortnight Celebrity Pro-Am.aak.
- She has created a game, a Roblox game, called "Slumber Party Story". It took a week to make and was most popularly played by LaurenzSide.[8][9]
- Kassie used to stream Among Us games, and she had said that she made some of her best friends there, such as Thyme and Scott.<ref>
