Nux Taku (born: February 9, 1996), also known as Nux, is a Canadian-American YouTuber and streamer who formerly made comedic analytical videos about anime, recently making videos about other topics including analytics and memes. He also currently acts as one of the hosts of the podcast, SomeOrdinaryPodcast.
While he fictionally resides in the Void, he has dual citizenship in both Canada and the United States. In his recent video: "I CANT STOP LAUGHING AT HER SUFFERING - Nux Watches Jaiden Animations' Pokemon Platinum Nuzlocke", he states he lives in Montreal.

Controversy[]
Vshojo[]
Since Spring of 2021, the talents of VShojo were targeted by doxxers/swatters, which caused law enforcement to get involved. In October 2021, fake VShojo emails were sent to two unaffiliated VTubers in order to solicit personal data, one of them being Nux. Nux contacted VShojo to verify, and they informed Nux of the ongoing investigation behind the scene.[1]
Nux found out a name and released a video about it on November 21, 2021.[2] This (and the continued uptime) upset VShojo members, who partly were under the assumption that he had been asked not to do this or explicitely asked him post-release,[3] as they feared that it would harm their safety even more and revealing the methods they used to catch him would just make it easier for others to learn how to get away with it.[4] Eventually Nux privatized the video, but by then he had already been condemned by creators both in and outside of the VTuber community.
Nux claimed that he had discussed the issue with upper management and they greenlighted his decision, as the official VShojo Twitter account even had tweeted thanks for the video (though that same tweet was additional info that they felt was needed for clarification).[5] Nux also released a Twitlonger where he detailed his side of the story[6][7], which was followed by another VShojo response trying to straighten more details.[8][9]
Misinformation[]
In the video I Showed @penguinz0 EVERY Vtuber Drama, Nux stated that hololive fired Coco Kiryu due to the Taiwan controversy, when in reality they only suspended her for two weeks (not to punish her, but to ensure the harassment would die down before she returned) and cut themselves out of the Chinese market, going as far as to terminate their own Chinese branch. While Coco did retire, she stated that it had nothing to do with the Taiwan controversy and it was because of her own lack of motivation.[10][11]
In the same video, he called the Vox and Reimu drama "a nothingburger", when in reality, it was actually more severe - Vox hosted an ASMR and Reimu interrupted it with a call, leading rabid fans of Vox sending Reimu death threats and harassing her for "ruining their date".[12] At first, Vox even defended them, but quickly realized his mistake and made a response video stating "You and I are not in a relationship. I care deeply about my fans, but I don't know you" and "You need to view me as an entertainer". He also reiterated that he could be friends with whoever he wanted and his fans needed to stop behaving as if they were dating.[13][14]
