Tor Echkoff † (November 22, 1964 - November 26, 2021 [aged 57]), better known online as Apetor, was a Norwegian YouTuber. He was recognized as a person who performed extreme activities around ice and the cold, such as ice skating on thin ice and bathing on iced water.

Content

Most of Apetor's videos revolved around him drinking Vodka at the start or end of his videos in comedic fashion. Most of the time, he was seen barely clothed and swam in the ice cold waters. His most viewed video, titled "The First Snow 4", where he was seen bathing in a tub filled with ice chunks and cold water while drinking Vodka, was a good example of his general content.

One of Apetor's most notable video series was On Thin Ice, where he would ice-skate on frozen lakes while barely clothed. Most of the time he fell in the cold water, either accidentally or on purpose. It wasn't until "On Thin Ice 8" where he started to use a chainsaw to propel himself while ice skating which became one of his most notable stunts.

History

Apetor created his YouTube channel on October 10, 2006, and uploaded his first video, titled "In my boat", that same day, where he drove his boat. In 2018, he was diagnosed with cancer.

Death

On November 26, 2021, four days after Apetor posted his final and most recent video "I am Not Dead, I am 57 Today", he died by drowning after falling into the icy waters of Jakobs Dam in Norway while recording a video.

• The vodka Apetor drank in his videos is the Vikingfjord brand, though he said that he was not being paid by them.
• He had a minor role in a Norwegian movie called Lange Flate Ballær 3 and was credited. In an August 2021 video, he would explain details about the his role as a villain in the movie.
