GoodTimesWithScar (or simply Scar), is an American Minecraft YouTuber known for his building tutorials and Hermitcraft series in the popular game Minecraft.
History
Before starting YouTube, Scar was a varsity swimmer. During his freshman year of high school, he swam the 500 freestyle at state and was Top 5 in the state.
At age 16, Scar became ill, and was later diagnosed with an unnamed neuromuscular disease. Because of his neuromuscular disease, he relies on a wheelchair and oxygen. He occasionally goes on hiatus due to his illness.
Scar started his YouTube channel in 2011 with Call of Duty videos before transitioning his channel to Minecraft. As a talented photographer and painter, he frequently uses his knowledge of painting and landscape photography to add realism to his highly detailed Minecraft builds.
Videos
GoodTimesWithScar has created many YouTube videos, mostly Minecraft associated, and creates tutorials on how to build houses ranging from craftsman, rustic, traditional and modern art styles. Scar also plays on many servers with other YouTubers such as Cubfan135, Grian, Smallishbeans, or Mumbo Jumbo. He has also played other games besides Minecraft such as The Forest, Planet Coaster, Among Us, and Prison Architect, to list a few.
Scar is a big Disney fan. He grew up visiting Disneyland, and always wanted to be an Imagineer. He utilizes his knowledge of theme park design in his builds, most notably in his "Scarland Rollercoaster". He also has an extensive collection of Disney memorabilia, and Disney is a frequent topic of discussion on his Twitch streams.
Jellie
Scar's pet cat, Jellie, is loved by fans of his and even exists inside of Scar's massive Minecraft survival world, Scarland. Jellie liked to sit on Scar's internet router. She also won the "Minecraft Cat Contest" at Minecon 2019 and became the ninth cat to be added to the game.
On June 13, 2020 Scar shared a post after he had been away for a while due to his own illness. He has also shared that Jellie had become very sick and had almost passed away. Scar stated that Jellie had pulled through and survived the illness.
On January 4, 2024, Scar announced that Jellie had passed away on all of his socials. [1]

Hermitcraft
Season 4
Scar joins Hermitcraft, along with Cubfan135, Iskall85, Rendog, Vintage Beef, and Welsknight. His base is a frontier outpost with steam trains and old west underground town in a mesa biome.
Season 5
Season 6
Scar built a pirate themed island as his megabase and participated in the building contest along with Grian, Mumbo, and Iskall. He and Cubfan started ConCorp, one of the largest shop chains on the server. Their competitor was Sahara.
Season 7
Scar's starter base was a large snail house with a diamond beard (built by Grian) named Larry. This was located in the jungle with neighbors Iskall, Mumbo, Stressmonster101, and Grian. He then made a magical village next to his starter base. After he finished, he moved onto his megabase, "The Big Dig". The purpose of the big dig was to dig a giant hole into the Nether. Scar also won the election of the mayoral campaign, and became the mayor of the shopping district. Because of this, scar improved the layout and infrastructure of the shopping district, he also cleaned up the "mycelian menace" that was growing in the shopping district. Scar created a town right next to the shopping district known as Aqua Town. This featured many 1930s-50s style buildings and shops. He also invited many other hermits to set up shop there as well.
Season 8
Right at episode one, Scar allied with Pearl, Grian, Mumbo, and Impulse and founded "Boatem" (by placing his boat on top of the Boatem Pole). His starter base was a series of large wagons and factories called "The Swaggon". His megabase consisted of tall snowcapped mountains on top of Grian's base, as part of the Boatem "Gigabase".
Season 9
Scar started the season off by creating an "Elven kingdom", as part of his starter base. This consisted of a large tree in the middle, many little huts, and lots of growing vegetation. His mega base was a massive theme park called "Scarland". There are currently no rides yet, but the main street is complete. It is made up of colorful buildings and shops, which he spent a lot of time designing and building. At the end of the main street, there is a massive castle which currently does not have a complete interior. The entrance to Scarland is currently a Roller Coaster Tycoon-like building with ticket booths created by the Redstone handyman, ImpulseSV. He has his own building out the back of Scarland just for him, and along with that, he gets paid 32 Diamonds a week. But Impulse isn't the only one hired by Scar. Scar has also hired "Cleaning Lading Pearl" (PearlescentMoon), to help clean up aound Scarland. She also gets paid 32 Diamonds a week and has her own building out the back of Scarland.

3rd Life (S1)
Started April 20, 2021, 3rd Life was mini-series created by Grian, where several Hermitcraft members and Evo SMP members got together on a small server to play hardcore survival. Everyone would start with 3 lives (green life is 3 lives, yellow is 2, and red is 1), and live peacefully, build alliances, etc. But when a player died twice, they would be a red life, and would be automatically entitled to attempt to kill anyone they pleased. Scar played in all eight sessions of the season, allying with Grian, building their base in an desert and was one of only two people left alive in the final session. The session concluded with a final duel between Scar and Grian (the other living player), which Grian won.
Last Life (S2)
Started September 21, 2021, this sequel to 3rd Life was renamed to Last Life because of changes in rules from the previous season. The green, yellow, and red life rules are the same, but this time not everyone started with 3 lives. Everyone started with anywhere from 2 to 6 lives, and players could also choose to give their own lives away to other. There was also a "Boogeyman" chosen each session that would be tasked to kill a green or yellow player. If the Boogeyman succeeded in their task they would be cured of their curse. If they failed, they would automatically turn to a red life in the following session. All members from 3rd Life returned for Last Life, and this season also saw the additions of Pearlescent Moon, LDshadowLady, and Mumbo Jumbo. Though Scar did make it to session 8 of the season, he technically only played in seven of the nine sessions, as he missed one due to health reasons.
Double Life (S3)
Started June 17, 2022, Double Life is the third season of the "3rd Life" Hardcore SMP by Grian where each player has three lives and becomes hostile on their last "red" life. The world is enclosed within a border, and there is only one enchanting table, which in this season was located in an Ancient City. There were no new members this season, but a few members from previous seasons of 3rd Life did not return for the Double Life season. The name "Double Life" comes from the season's "twist:" each of the 14 players was randomly assigned a "soulmate" who they would share a health bar with. Scar's soulmate was Grian. Scar and Grian did well in Double Life, keeping their green lives for longer than any other soulmate pair. They played in all six of the season's sessions, ultimately losing in the sixth and final session.
Limited Life (S4)
Started sometime in March 2023, Limited Life was the fourth season of the "3rd Life" Hardcore SMP by Grian where each player has three lives and becomes hostile on their last "red" life. The world is enclosed within a border, and there is only one enchanting table. In limited life, players have 24 hours. Green is 24-15, yellow 15-8, red 8-0. I think. Dying loses players one hour. Killing someone gains them 30 mins. Once they run out of time they're out. Scar teamed up with BdoubleO and ZombieCleo. He didn't do very well.
Secret Life (S5)
Secret life started on October 20 2023, Secret Life is the fifth season of the "3rd Life" Hardcore SMP. The gimmick for this season was that each player had three lives, with 30 hearts, and hearts do not regenerate. Every week, players are given a task that if they complete, they can get extra hearts, or reroll for a harder task to get even more hearts if they succeed, or lose hearts if they fail. Scar had zero allies during the entire season, due to his tasks making him “the villain.” He runs a business on the server called “Trader Scars” where he sells stuff, but it wasn’t too successful. Scars first death is taken by Pearlescentmoon, in session 7, and his second life was taken by Skizzleman using tnt in session 8. In the final session, he kills around 7 players, being the last one standing, crowning him the winner of this season.
100 Hours of Hardcore Minecraft
In between seasons 8 and 9 of Hermitcraft, Grian started a 100 hours of Hardcore Minecraft series. Though Scar didn't actually receive an official invitation from Grian to join, he was able to join because Grian recycled the Last Life server to be the Hardcore world. The object of the game was to try to survive 100 hours in Hardcore Minecraft without dying. If one died, their series would be over. Scar's goal for this series was to "beat" the game (i.e., starter/mega base, defeat wither & Ender dragon, etc.).
MC Championship
MC Championship is a Minecraft Tournament for YouTubers and streamers run by the Noxcrew, in which 10 teams of four compete in a series of 8 minigames decided by the participants. A point multiplier makes each game worth more as each round passes, incentivizing teams to vote for games they might be bad at early on in the event. In the end, the two teams with the most points face off in a round of ‘Dodgebolt’ to decide the winner of the tournament. This makes it possible for a team to win despite potentially having fewer points than the runner-up.
Scar debuted in MCC20.

- MC Championship 24: Team Aqua Axolotls. Teamed with fruitberries, SmallishBeans, and cubfan135. Placed 40th individual and his team placed 8th overall.
- MC Championship 25: Team Green Geckos. Teamed with SmallishBeans, jojosolos, and SeaPeeKay. Placed 26th individual and his team placed 1st overall, winning Dodgebolt and the tournament.
- MC Championship 26: Did not participate.
- MC Championship 27: Did not participate.
- MC Championship 27 (also known as MC Championship 27 - Underdogs) is considered a "half-canon" event, as all player statistics were removed except for win count. The event only featured creators who had not won a canon event before, and therefore Scar was not invited to participate.
- MC Championship 28: Team Red Reindeers. Teamed with jojosolos, GeminiTay, and Ranboo. Placed 23rd individual and his team placed 3rd overall.
- MC Championship 32: Team Red Rabbits. Teamed with Aimsey, Antfrost, and Ranboo. Placed 34th individual and his team placed 1st overall.
- MC Championship 33: Team Cyan Coyotes. Teamed with EthosLab, Dangthatsalongname, and FireBreathMan. He placed 30th individually and his team placed 4th.
- MC Championship 33: Team Purple Pandas. Teamed with InTheLittleWood, Illumina, and Wallibear. He placed 35th individually and his team placed 6th.
- MC Championship 34: Team Gingerbread men. Teamed with OwengeJuice, Bekyamon, and FireBreathMan. He placed 31st individually, and his team placed 5th.
