Salutations, Lamb Fam!

―Baby Lamb Creations

Simon A. (born November 29, 2002 (2002-11-29) [age 21]), better known online as Baby Lamb Creations (occasionally corrupted as Baby Lamb Productions), is an American YouTuber known for posting different kinds of videos, such as shitposts, memes, animations, singing videos, piano covers, musical mashups, Minecraft videos, random skits, episodes of his show "Baby Lamb & Friends", and all others.

His channel was created on March 21, 2016, and his first video was uploaded the following day, on March 22, 2016. The channel's target demographic is general audiences, in which he usually refers to his fans as "The Lamb Fam."

Baby Lamb Creations has been involved in over 1,500 videos from various YouTubers, consisting of meme compilations, live streams, fan-made videos, or different web series or collaborations that Simon A. plays a role in.

About[]

Simon A. was born in 2002. He wanted to become a YouTuber ever since he was a child and watched YouTube videos of all different kinds (memes, songs, cartoons, YouTube Poops, plush content, etc.). He originally used a very old YouTube account called "emaforluv" in 2011, but all he did was post comments on it. When his dad gave him a video camera, he began recording videos of his plush toys, which eventually spawned into Baby Lamb Creations' official web series under the title "Baby Lamb & Friends."[1]

The channel was named after an old stuffed lamb that Simon had when he was a child, named "Baby Lamb", but unfortunately lost in a movie theatre around May of 2012.[2] It was originally going to be called Random Video Productions, but Simon eventually decided to name his channel after his lost childhood plaything.

When his channel was created, however, it originally contained his initials in addition to "Baby Lamb Creations". But he felt like it was too long and not catchy, so he shortened it to simply "Baby Lamb Creations". While it was evident that adding the word "Baby" in his channel's name would confuse people into thinking that his channel mainly posts content for young children (when in actuality he also posts memes and videos that occasionally have profanity), he still kept it both to be ironic and to acknowledge his childhood.

His profile pic was first a picture of a drawing of Baby Lamb (used in the first 3 seasons of Baby Lamb & Friends) and his stuffed childhood cow that he named "Cow". Around mid-2017, his pic changed into a drawing of Baby Lamb, and in late 2018, his profile pic got redesigned to a more cartoonish-looking version of Baby Lamb. Around special days like Christmas and Halloween, he changes his profile pic depending on the time of year.

Many of the things Simon does on and for his channel includes drawing, animating, playing the piano, composing music, and editing over 2,000 of his videos using iMovie.

Channel history[]

When Simon first started his YouTube channel on March of 2016, it mostly consisted of clips from childhood shows that he watched (such as Sesame Street, The Powerpuff Girls, and Mickey Mouse) as well as keyboard covers of different songs, recreations of the Magical Events from Teletubbies in Minecraft: Pocket Edition, and early episodes of "Baby Lamb & Friends". Back then, he recorded his videos with an iPad, edited them with the iMovie mobile app, and even used his iPad to record the screens of other devices, sound and all.

Eventually, around the beginning of 2017, Simon switched to digital recording, downloaded iMovie on his MacBook Air which he still uses to edit all of his videos. His new form of video-editing led to different kinds of videos such as "Random Math", "Don't Let Your Kids Watch It", "Epic Ear Rape", and his "Musical Mashups". For the first 4 and a half years of his channel, he used his iPad to record videos where he appears in person such as special announcements, subscribers specials, Minecraft videos, remakes of "The Adventures of Cliff Hanger", and episodes of "Baby Lamb & Friends." As of mid-2020, videos are currently filmed with his iPhone 11.

From 2016-2020, during the holiday season or special days, Baby Lamb Creations would post compilations of all of Simon's favourite shows that have specials surrounding a certain holiday, such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Valentine's Day, etc. Additionally, whenever he reached a certain milestone in subscribers, he would make a special subscriber video to celebrate.

When Simon left YouTube temporarily to go on vacation during the summer of 2018, he posted an announcement saying that he's gonna be taking a break from YouTube but posted some pre-made videos as birthday gifts for some of his friends who have birthdays during the time he was on vacation. His fans were patient and when he returned, he surprised everyone with an animated video to celebrate his return. This became BLC's first full-length animation.

It was then that Baby Lamb Creations got into producing animated videos, which gained attention from his fellow fans. One of Simon's favourite animated videos was a special animated video posted on Christmas Eve, which included the voices of a lot of his YouTube friends and fans singing the Disney Christmas song, "The Best Christmas of All".

Additionally, Baby Lamb Creations has an alternate channel made around the end of 2017 in the event where something might happen to the original channel, and Simon posted an announcement about it in mid-2018[3]. It gained over 100 subscribers that very day. Simon has not posted anything in his alternate channel until June 17, 2019, when he uploaded a video combining his series "Baby Lamb & Friends" and Xplodin Apple's series "Angry Birds Craptastic Adventures", parodying a PBS Kids block Simon saw as a kid[4].

On February 18, 2019, Baby Lamb Creations celebrated reaching 50,000 subscribers with an animated special featuring his animated characters singing the beloved SpongeBob song "Sweet Victory", which also paid tribute to the show's creator, Stephen Hillenburg who unfortunately died back in November of 2018 due to complications of ALS. It was also made in response to the controversy surrounding NFL and the Halftime Show that left millions of fans disappointed. The video eventually became most liked animated video BLC has uploaded. 5 days before the video's release, however, Simon got into an accident in which his leg was broken, forcing him to undergo a major surgery the day after on Valentine's Day in which he stayed in the hospital for a mere 3 days[5]. During the time he was recovering, he continued to finish animating his 50,000 subscribers' animated special. His recovery lasted for over half a year.

On May 4, 2019, Simon announced on YouTube that Baby Lamb & Friends: The Movie (a film adaptation based on his web series) was in development. After the release of the Season 4 episode of Baby Lamb & Friends, "A Tale of Two Cows", he announced it would be the last episode made before production on the film officially starts[6]. On July 30, 2019, Baby Lamb Creations went on a month-long hiatus because Simon wanted to continue production on his film "Baby Lamb & Friends: The Movie". Production on the film ran from June to October, and it made its auspicious debut on November 9, 2019. It gained positive reception from dozens of fans on the day of release, and Simon A. considers Baby Lamb & Friends: The Movie to be his channel's "magnum opus".

On December 24, 2019, Simon A. uploaded a Christmas video called "A Baby Lamb Musical Christmas Collection", compiling a lot of musical holiday mashups posted on Baby Lamb Creations over the years while Simon transitions from one song to the other. It ended with a huge cover of the song "Keep Christmas With You" from Sesame Street, sung by various fans while Simon himself arranged the music on the piano. It is one of Simon's favorite collaborative videos to have made.

List of Series[]

  • Baby Lamb & Friends: The series involves a young and happy-go-lucky little sheep named Baby Lamb as well as his colorful and unique friends: including his best friend Cow McMoo, the sweet and bubbly Belle Butterfly, wisecracking Ricky Bowers, wise Donny Dolphin, tough-as-nails Alice Pollenia, and sassy Cassandra Cat. All of them live in the random fictional town of Capitol City, where they tend to get into random situations and even learn important life lessons about themselves and the world around them. The show uses a mixture of live-action and animation as well as plush toys, "paper puppets", LEGO mini-figures, and others.
  • The Adventures of Cliff Hanger: Based on the original animated segments from Between the Lions, these videos feature Baby Lamb Creations' take on Cliff and his many escapades on trying to get out of the cliff. It follows the same structure and format as the original segments.
  • Mr. Nut: Inspired by Rowan Atkinson and a parody of the iconic 1990 "Mr. Bean" comedy series and 2002 animated "Mr. Bean" series, Mr. Nut is a series of live-action shorts about a bumbling weirdo named Mr. Nut and his plush mouse, Mickey. As the name implies, Mr. Nut proves himself to be, without a shadow of a doubt, a complete nut.

YouTube Issues[]

BLC's History with Copyright Strikes[]

The day right after Simon's 16th Birthday, on November 30, 2018, Baby Lamb Creations received its first-ever copyright strike from Bagdasarian Productions who requested YouTube to take down his upload of the song "My Mother" from the 1987 movie "The Chipmunk Adventures" which was posted on May 14, 2017. Ever since that incident, BLC has been planning to make more original content and remove any uploads of scenes from shows or movies to prevent any further copyright strikes. Eventually, the strike expired on February 28, 2019 [7]. On the morning of April 22, 2020, Baby Lamb Creations received two third-party copyright strikes from The Fred Rogers Company in regards to nine Mister Rogers-related videos that BLC posted dating back to 2017, one of which was a popular upload of the Mister Rogers' Neighborhood opening theme which was used in a handful of websites and online news articles posts.

Simon A. eventually tried to remove as much Mister Rogers videos as he could before The Fred Rogers Company could do any additional takedowns. He posted a now-deleted video the next day explaining the situation and told his viewers to subscribe to his alternate channel, Baby Lamb Creations 2.0. He then contacted Fred Rogers Productions with an email regarding his issue and they responded to him by saying that PBS gave them licensing rights for those clips which aren't allowed to be used by anyone else and they are in a difficult decision to take them down, which eventually made Simon more aware. However, they understood that he had good intentions.

Eventually, on July 21, 2020, the two copyright strikes Baby Lamb Creations received by Fred Rogers Productions officially expired; 10 days before the channel itself reached its milestone of 75,000 subscribers[8]. However, on December 10, 2020, Simon confirmed in a now-deleted video that the channel received yet another third-party copyright strike from The Fred Rogers Company on November 25, 2020, causing him to, like before, delete the vast majority of his Mister Rogers videos to prevent himself from getting another strike. Thankfully for Simon, he saved all his videos to Google Drive for his fans to watch.

That is, until Simon got numerous emails that are Google DMCA Violations, meaning The Fred Rogers Company filed DMCA complaints on the videos Simon saved on Google Drive. After reading the email further and finding out that he could risk losing his entire Google account (YouTube channel and all) if he gets any more DMCA violations, he decided to download and remove every Mister Rogers video he had on Google Drive (which took up approximately 3 GB of space) and just move them to a flash drive. Unfortunately, that means that no one would be able to see his archived Mister Rogers videos anymore. The strike eventually expired on February 23, 2021.

On January 19, 2021, Simon got another copyright strike in relation to a Fred Rogers video, albeit from another company called Featherwind Productions, LLC. in relation to his video "Bob Ross and Fred Rogers' Final Goodbyes", leading to him once again fearing that he would end up losing his channel[9]. Many of his fans decided to support Simon during the situation by tweeting and making art with the hashtag #SaveBLC. The strike expired three months later on April 19, 2021, thus making Baby Lamb Creations free from strikes for the first time in 5 months, and to this very day[10].

BLC's COPPA Situation[]

YouTube made significant changes to the platform in early 2020 where creators have to mark their channel and determine whether their content is for kids or not. Right away, Simon marked his channel as "Not made for kids" and his videos were unaffected for a few years until gradually a few videos got marked as "Made for Kids".

Simon did not pay much mind to it until eventually in October of 2023 when he got an email that despite his channel's settings, YouTube decided to override his channel's audience setting and mark over 400 of his videos as "Made for Kids" which included several episodes of Baby Lamb & Friends, Mr. Nut videos, his first YouTube video posted, musical crossovers, and several others.[11].

Similarity to most users, Simon has taken action to this situation by adding in clips that contain profanity or other swear words to prevent the bots from marking the videos as such. Initially he began most videos with a satirical segment called "The Swear Word of the Day", where he uses a clip from a video that has a swear word. Eventually, he decided to take the sitation more seriously and on November 5, 2023, Simon uploaded a video titled "COPPA Affecting the Future of BLC"[12] where he describes the whole issue and how it could possibly effect the future of his entire channel due to his videos mainly being aimed towards a mainstream audience.[13].

Through an idea suggested by one of his friends AreaEightyNine, Simon appealed as many videos as possible, and with that he was able to successfully appeal over 210 of the affected videos, which he revealed in a fellow update video.[14]. With this, Simon was able to continue making videos aimed at a general audience but videos that could be potentially be marked as "Made for Kids" now start with a clip of Peter Griffin from Family Guy saying "fuck".

Random Rewind[]

2018[]

Random Rewind 2018 A Recap of BLC This Year

On December 30, 2018, Simon A. premiered a special end-of-the-year video on Baby Lamb Creations titled "Random Rewind", which was a vast recap of all of the events that occurred on his channel throughout 2018. It is an obvious parody of YouTube Rewind, but it was also in response to the YouTube Rewind of that year getting an incredibly negative reception and a massive amount of dislikes so Simon wanted to do something special to satisfy his fans and see if he can do a good job recapping 2018 on his community.

The Rewind featured a remix mashup of "No Money" by Galantis and "Waiting for Love" by the late Avicii, a montage of various videos made throughout 2018, and tributes to some of the people who passed away in 2018 (which became the norm of the succeeding Random Rewinds). The 7-minute-long video got 70 likes and over 1,000 views, and a lot of fans were happy with the video.

2019[]

Random Rewind 2019 End of a Decade

On December 31, 2019, Simon A. premiered yet another Random Rewind to recap a lot of the events that defined 2019 for Baby Lamb Creations, and like before, it parodied the YouTube Rewind of that year, (in response to YouTube's attempt at making a better rewind for the audience which eventually led to a lot of disappointment). That year's Random Rewind was twice as long as the previous Rewind, being 14 minutes long.

It featured numerous songs (more songs played than last year's) such as "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" by Elton John and Minnie Mouse (from the 1988 Disney special Totally Minnie); a mashup of "Friend Like Me" from Aladdin and "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" theme song; and a mashup of "Counting Stars" by One Republic and a Sesame Street parody of "Five-By" by Train. Unlike last year's Rewind, there's also a recap of what Simon considers the best Musical Mashups he has made and a recap of Baby Lamb & Friends: The Movie. It got a lot more reception that last year's rewind, getting over 100 likes and nearly 3,000 views.

2020[]

Random Rewind 2020- A Year in Infamy

On November 12, 2020, YouTube announced that they will not do a YouTube Rewind in response to the events that have happened throughout 2020. However, that did not stop Simon from continuing to produce his own Random Rewind for 2020 and so he premiered yet another Random Rewind on December 31, 2020. Although, like before, the main focus is the recap a lot of the events that have defined 2020 for Baby Lamb Creations, the first 2 minutes of the Rewind was dedicated to recapping the unfortunate events that have taken place during 2020.

2020's Rewind was approximately the same length as the previous Rewind, though only longer by 11 seconds. It doesn't contain any Musical Mashups like the previous Rewind but it featured a very special mention of the Class of 2020, since Simon A. graduated from high school on 2020. It didn't get as much reception in comparison to the previous Rewind, although it got a lot more than the first one in 2018.

2021[]

Random Rewind 2021- A Year Of Recovery

On October 10, 2021, YouTube announced that they will officially discontinue YouTube Rewinds, stating that the platform is too massive and incorporating all of its facets in minute-long videos is impossible[15]. YouTube has said that it left the onus of making rewind videos on creators. As a result, Simon continued with his own Random Rewind videos and released the 2021 edition of it on December 31, 2021. It opened with Simon talking about the accomplishments of him reaching 100K subscribers and celebrating the 5th anniversary of his YouTube channel. In addition to the usual annual recaps, it also included a compilation of the "best BLC Musical Moments", summarized the #SaveBLC campaign, and a compilation of the celebrities Simon A. met throughout 2021. Simon A. finished producing the Random Rewind video on December 29 and had it scheduled for New Year's Eve. But after hearing about the news of beloved actress Betty White's death on December 31st, he had to delete it and repost it to edit in Betty White as part of the "In Memoriam" tribute at the last minute. It is 28 seconds longer than the previous Rewind and got more reception than the 2020 Rewind, but less than the 2019 and 2018 Rewinds.

Random Rewind 2022- An Accomplished Year

2022[]

Baby Lamb Creations released the 2022 Random Rewind on December 31st, 2022, marking the fifth overall Random Rewind. In addition to the usual summarization of the content produced throughout 2022 and "In Memoriam" tribute, the 2022 Random Rewind also included both a compilation of singing videos and piano videos that Simon produced that year. There was also a part of the Rewind that featured the places Simon visited during 2022, the most prominent events being his trip to Disneyland in "BLC Goes to Disneyland" and seeing Sir Elton John in concert for the first time ever.

Like the previous year, there was also a part featuring celebrities and Internet influencers that have acknowledged Baby Lamb Creations during 2022 such as Hassan Khadair and Voros Twins. This Rewind is significantly longer than the previous Rewinds, being 19 minutes and 8 seconds long. However, it has gotten a significantly lower premiere reception compared to the previous Rewinds, receiving only 80+ likes and over 1,000 views.

Random_Rewind_2023-_5th_Anniversary!

Random Rewind 2023- 5th Anniversary!

2023[]

The 2023 Random Rewind was special because it marked the 5th anniversary of when Baby Lamb Creations started making Rewinds in response to the poor reception that YouTube's penultimate Rewind got. The recap of the channel's events, such as going on Cameo and watching The Super Mario Bros Movie, was accompanied by an instrumental version of the song "Ordinary Man" by Ozzy Osbourne. Some of those events include Simon collaborating with other YouTubers such as StinkyBlueRat and Xplodin Film and meeting famed voice actors Tom Kenny and Jim Cummings in person.

It follows the same format as the previous Rewind, having a compilation of singing and piano videos that Simon made throughout 2023. The Rewind also acknowledged Simon getting surgery on his arm in mid-2023 which stopped him from playing piano videos for a few months. Additionally, the Rewind has a part dedicated to Simon celebrating the 100th anniversary of Disney by going to Disney On Ice for the first time in "BLC Goes to Disney on Ice", then visiting the Walt Disney Family Museum, and finally returning to Disneyland in the sequel to his Disneyland movie, "BLC Returns to Disneyland". There was also a part talking about Simon's experience going on the Polar Express Christmas train ride for the first time. The 2023 Random Rewind got a slightly bigger reception than the previous, and is longer than the previous by one minute.

Trivia[]

  • As of November 9, 2023, Simon successfully saved every single video he posted on Baby Lamb Creations thus far into a folder, in which he saved it all in a flash drive in case something happens to his channel[16].
  • The AnimationCreator HD app is what Simon uses to draw and animate since September 2015.
  • Around the summer of 2016, Simon A. had an idea of making a film adaptation of "Baby Lamb & Friends", even though it was very early in the series itself. He made a short announcement of the movie around the end of June of 2016 and recorded nearly a half-hour of footage of it, but eventually, due to time constraints and a lack of space to record more footage, the concept overall was scrapped [17]. There were no additional efforts to make the movie until 3 years later.
  • Simon A. once virtually met and spoke with Disney voice actor Bill Farmer. He has also got to personally meet American voice actor Rob Paulsen.
  • Simon A. has collaborated with UNODASH !!! on two episodes of "Derrick McCormick" while Derrick appeared at the beginning of Baby Lamb & Friends: The Movie. The two YouTubers eventually made a full collaboration with the release of the crossover film "Derrick McCormick & Friends", the Baby Lamb & Friends/Derrick McCormick crossover which premiered on Simon's channel on June 27, 2020[18].
  • On May 14, 2020, YouTube was temporarily down when Simon was unable to access his channel and his videos. Simon A. publicly tweeted in a now-deleted tweet "I nearly got a heart attack because I thought my channel was deleted." Ever since that incident, he has been more cautious with how he handles his content to prevent getting another copyright strike. He deleted his then most popular video "The Looney Tunes Show: 'That's All Folks' Ending Compilation", which stood at nearly 8 million views, amongst several other uploaded clips from animated shows that Simon didn't edit or change. His channel's overall view count decreased by nearly 20 million views, but Simon was more focused on keeping his channel up than he was in terms of keeping videos that he never made himself.
  • A lot of inspiration to Simon making his own channel also came from YouTuber Xplodin Film, as his "Angry Birds Craptastic Adventures" series inspired Simon to make his "Baby Lamb & Friends" series amongst other videos[19].
    • Xplodin Film later on appeared as a guest in a 2023 "Baby Lamb & Friends" episode that takes place at Disneyland[20].
  • He was born on Black Friday.
  • On April Fools Day of 2022, Jeffy from SML makes a guest appearance telling viewers he was taking over Baby Lamb Creations' YouTube channel. This was done because of a video from Lance Thirtyacre's Cameo page[21].
