Thomas "Tom" Simons[2][3][4][5] (born: April 9, 2004), better known online as TommyInnit or Tommy (formerly known as Channelnutpig), is an English gaming YouTuber, Twitch streamer, and member of the (now ended) Dream SMP known for his Minecraft-related streams and videos, most notably his collaborations with YouTubers and streamers in the Dream SMP.
His content consists of Dream SMP (previous to its ending), mods, SMPEarth, Minecraft Championship, hacking, and Hypixel Skyblock videos. In September 2019, he was given the YouTube rank on Hypixel.
Personal life[]
Tom Simons used to live on Nottingham, England with his Mother, Sarah Simons who is nicknamed "MotherInnit" by his fans, a portmanteau of "mother" and the keyword "Innit" on his online name.
He tried to move to an apartment in Brighton in January 2022, but was kicked out due to carbon dioxide leaks and asbestos. He was left homeless, but went to Wilbur Soot's house. He shortly left after and went to a library. At the library, Tommy let Ranboo stream from his account. Wilbur eventually picked up Tommy. Tommy spent several more days at Wilbur's house before eventually moving into his apartment. Tommy currently still lives in his apartment, but his landlord is very controlling of him. This all lead to fans and even his friends to joke about it being an “exile arc”, as Tommy's character on the Dream SMP went through a similar situation in exile.[6][7]
On 19 November 2022, Simons posted a video announcing that he has a girlfriend. Her face and real name were not revealed in the video, and she was instead given the nickname "Em".[8] On 6 May 2023, Simons uploaded a video titled "Minecraft, But My Girlfriend Face Reveals...", in which his girlfriend's face and real name, Molly, were revealed.[9]
History[]
Starting his Twitch[]
TommyInnit started streaming on Twitch in mid 2017, where he played Stardew Valley, Terraria. In late 2018, he streamed PUBG, Fortnite, or Hypixel public parties (mainly Bed Wars). By early 2019, Tommy gained Twitch Affiliate and started gaining more viewers. While Tommy had a small fan base during February 2019, his fanbase was strong and full of many Hypixel Influencers, a result of his Hypixel news videos.
When Tommy started posting Hypixel Skyblock on August 6, 2019 which took his channel to about 200K subscribers, his channel content shifted from video skits to edited livestreams of Hypixel Skyblock. The hype behind Hypixel Skyblock blew up, and due to this, TommyInnit became one of the fastest YouTubers to gain instant growth, going from 4.8k to 66k within two months. After almost 3 months of consistent Hypixel Skyblock uploads, TommyInnit was able to expand his reach to a more general audience through his invite to SMPEarth, a private SMP featuring many influencers, which eventually led to more content. TommyInnit was a part of SMPEarth, Skeppy's SMP, AnothaSMP, and was a part of Blockworth Season 2 until it ended.
Tommy throughout 2020 eventually got added to the Dream SMP, and posted highlights on his channel from when he streamed it. He later got into mod videos and vlogs, which made his channel blow up, going to 10 million subscribers.
Old channel[]
When Tommy was 9, in February 2013, he started a YouTube channel called Channelnutpig, but people would often bully him for it. As a result, when he was 13, he renamed the channel "tom" and privatized all of the videos on the channel. A year later he started streaming on Twitch for 2k followers, and a year after that, he started the "TommyInnit" YouTube channel. On February 9, 2021, Tommy posted a new video on Channelnutpig, stating that he is returning back to the channel and will un-privatize a video every hundred subscribers (as long as he remembers). This video has ranked up more than 1.7 million views, and Tommy has not kept his promise. The channel now has over 490k subscribers. As of July 30th, 2021, Channelnutpig is taking another indefinite hiatus.[10]
School meets YouTube[]
In December 2019, Tommy's school found out about his YouTube Channel, and one of his teachers (whom he refers to as Mr. Brett) even played a video of his on the projector screen.[11] Before this, the sister of Tommy's friend, Eryn, found out and would often creep him out with the fact she could scream at any point he was a Minecraft YouTuber. As well as this, a couple of others had previously found his channel through a Wilbur Soot SMPEarth video.

Jump In The Cadillac/That's What I Like[]
In 2020, a video of Tommy lip-syncing to That's What I like by Bruno Mars which was recorded back in 2019 was uploaded to YouTube by Wispy. The video quickly gained popularity, receiving over 11 million views and 500,000+ likes within a year and it was coined as "Cadillac Trolling" by the community and the meme was mostly being done by one of Tommy's Twitch mods, DrawThatRedstone who mostly Mediashares the video to Tubbo, Wilbur Soot, Niki Nihachu, Jack Manifold and other creators. Tommy also got trolled with the meme in his talent show video by CG5 who performed his song "Why did the chicken cross the road?" which included the lyrics of That's What I Like. The meme had also gotten Tommy unmodded many times. Tommy later made a video and uploaded it on the TommyOutit channel explaining the meme titled "Explaining this video.". In the video, he explained that the reason of him making the meme was that he was scrolling on Twitter and found his friend Calvin who had done a similar video to the one Tommy made and it received a lot of likes, which led to Calvin's Twitter account being suspended. So Tommy decided to make a video similar to Calvin's as he wanted likes at the time. He also used the video he made to make fun of TikTok E-Boys. Tommy also mentioned Wispy when he resurged the meme back in SMPEarth through Mediashares.
Me, Myself and I[]
In 2021, Lip-Syncing videos of Tommy have gotten on the rise again. But this time, its a different song which is Me, Myself and I by G-Eazy and Bebe Rexha. The video was uploaded by YouTuber named Canooon and was also uploaded by Wispy. It is speculated that Tommy will do another explaining video on the TommyOutit channel. Instead, he reacted the video on his YLYL Stream with Badlinu.
Content[]
As of 2021, Tommy usually makes videos where he plays Minecraft with mods, enjoying the game and its new modifications with his friends. Before this new era of modded Minecraft videos, he uploaded stream highlights and frequently explored the universe of hacking on Minecraft with Tubbo. These videos included hacking on Minecraft VR and turning every hack on. Before any of these videos, Tommy started out making Hypixel SkyBlock videos. Tommy sometimes streams Minecraft and other various games, but doesn’t do it as frequent as he used to due to focusing on YouTube. Due to him streaming more in 2021, Tommy won "best Minecraft streamer" in QTCinderellas streamer awards.
Tommy also owns the channels, TommyVODS, TommyOutit and tomaye. The TommyOutit channel consists of extra scenes from videos (the channel used to have some content from The SMP series Blockworth, but he privatized/deleted all of them). The TommyVODS channel contains his full uncut livestreams archived from Twitch, or VODs (Videos On Demand), and is managed by Tommy's friend Rudylmao.
The tomaye channel contains Tommy and his friends reacting to various unusual YouTube videos or Twitch streams, and is officially inactive for the time being. The TommyCLIPS channel is a now defunct channel where he used to upload clips and highlights from his streams. However, Tommy started a new channel named TommySHORTS, which is similar to the prior clip channel. Tommy also uses TikTok to post random videos of him and his friends.
Friends and fanbase[]
Notable people that appear across Tommy's channels include Tubbo, Wilbur Soot, Ph1LzA, Technoblade, JackManifoldTV, Ranboo, Badlinu, Eryn, and Jschlatt. Tommy as of 2020 interacts with his fanbase primarily on Twitter.
- Tubbo is Tommy's best friend, who is featured in almost every video he posts. They have known each other ever since they both started streaming. Tommy has a running joke where he calls Tubbo “Bee Boy.”
- Wilbur Soot is a good friend of Tommy's. They met on SMPEarth. Tommy has said that he and Wilbur act like brothers, in which Tommys fanbase seems to agree.
- Ph1LzA is a good friend of Tommy's. He acts as guardian for Tommy online. Phil has known Tommy since SMPEarth was around.
- Technoblade was a good friend of Tommy's and was one of Tommys biggest inspirations/childhood heroes. Tommy often hung out with Technoblade.
- JackManifoldTV is a good friend of Tommy's. They have known each other for years and often vlog together.
- Ranboo is another good friend of Tommy's. They first met in 2020 on the Dream SMP and since early 2021 have collaborated often. Tommy for whatever reason has a running joke where he implies he has romantic feelings for Ranboo.
- Badlinu & Eryn have known Tommy since the three were young. Badlinu first appeared in Channelnutpig videos and Eryn went to school with Tommy.
- Jschlatt is Tommy's favorite Youtuber, who often appears in Tommy's videos. Tommy often takes jokes from Jschlatt. Tommy's Minecraft skin also has Jschlatt's suit on the outer layer of it.
Controversies[]
Twitter shoutout[]
Tommy came under fire after he asked for a "shoutout" under KSI's tweet about the passing of rapper DMX on Twitter. KSI was one of many online personalities and celebrities who took to social media to pay tribute to the late icon. However, KSI's tweet ended up being overshadowed by one particular comment from Tommy, who had just turned 17 years of age. In the comment, he asked KSI to post an Instagram story giving him a shoutout in honor of his birthday. This was also labeled as "insensitive" and "disrespectful." Amid rising backlash, he immediately deleted it. He later addressed the situation on stream and attempted to clarify his comment by revealing that he hadn't read KSI's tweet properly.
Jschlatt & "tommy neg"[]
Tommy decided to make a tweet replying to Dream about Jschlatt. In the tweet Tommy jokingly said he disliked Jschlatt to make fun of people, which caused people who actually disliked Jschlatt to get mad at him for "making jokes about racism.” This lead to "tommy neg" trending on Twitter and Tommy being harassed. Tommy apologized for this, and noted that he was getting therapy after the harassment got too much for him. This caught people outside of Tommy's community to notice it, most notably Penguinz0 who went on to make a video defending Tommy. This is, as of 2021, Tommy's biggest controversy.
Relating to/understanding lesbians[]
In one of Tommy's live-streams with Tubbo, he had stated that he (presumably jokingly) hated men and related to/understood lesbians, as he was attracted to women as a heterosexual guy.[12] Some users, primarily on TikTok, would later state that the statement was offensive.[13] He would later apologize on another live-stream.[14]

Lobby spamming[]
In 2018, when TommyInnit just started streaming on his Twitch, he used "Lobby Spamming" to get viewers on his live streams. Lobby Spamming is the act of going into a Hypixel Lobby full of players and posting your stream link and some sort of clickbait, whether it was fake giveaways or something else. Tommy and his friend Badlinu set up chat macros to make Lobby Spamming easier. During late 2018, Tommy asked a server staff member if Lobby Spamming was allowed, and the staff member said it was.
In late December 2018, a server staff muted Tommy for 7 days. The staff member then replied with a semi-rude comment after Tommy was muted. However, the staff figured out that Tommy used macros to help Lobby Spam. Then, Tommy was banned for blacklisted modifications by using a macro. However, when Tommy made his ban appeal he brought up how a server staff said that Lobby Spamming was allowed and a rude comment a staff made after he was banned. A Hypixel Admin approved the appeal, allowing Tommy to join Hypixel again. However, Tommy was still muted but used this time to improve his editing skills.
Vape Client incident[]
This incident occurred on June 26, 2019. He got banned due to his video titled "the ranked skywars experience (handcam)" In this video, he made a joke about downloading the Vape Client. Many people believed that this ban wasn't deserved. Nevertheless, Hypixel Admins saw this video and banned him for 30 days for promoting cheats, despite Tommy stating that the video was complete satire.
Hacked Clients incident[]
Another incident Tommy was involved in occurred on April 27, 2020. This one revolved around his video titled "I installed 13 Minecraft hacked clients and did this..." People on the Hypixel Forums started noticing that this breaks Hypixel's YouTube Rank Policy, and several people started began posts about this pointing out he might get his rank removed or banned on Hypixel. Tommy confirmed later on stream that Simon, the owner of Hypixel, said it was completely fine as long as it did not become a trend. Tommy has made many hacking videos since then and has yet to be banned again.

- 7-day ban for KillAura and Reach on Blitz SG. Occurred sometime in 2016. He talked about this punishment in a video on his VODs/clips channel. (did not appeal)
- 7-day mute for Lobby Spamming. Occurred sometime in 2018. (did not appeal)
- 7-day mute for Lobby Spamming. December 2018. (appeal denied)
- 30-day ban for using a macro. Occurred at the same time as his second 7-day mute (appeal accepted)
- 30-day ban for Promoting or Encouraging the Use of Hacks. Occurred June 26, 2019. (appeal denied)
Hypixel YouTube rank[]
On September 20, 2019, he officially announced he acquired YouTube rank, but later, on April 27, 2020's stream, said it was difficult to gain the rank, as there is a rule where you can't have a punishment in the last 6 months. Due to his 30 day ban on June 26, 2019, he could not apply for this, but a Hypixel Admin, Jamie, was nice enough and gave it to him anyway.
Feud with JiDion[]
During TwitchCon Amsterdam, JiDion decided to troll as well in the event and ran over to TommyInnit. After he trolled or harrased Tommy, he was kicked out of TwitchCon and was banned as well on the event. Presumbly due for his current ban on Twitch and regarding of "harasing" Tommy and his fans.[15]
A lot of Tommy's fans got scared and saying that JiDion had harrased them and made fun of them in his Meet and Greet line.
On Tommy's stream on July 19, 2022, he addressed what happened at the time and has said that Twitch will make sure that theres more security at TwitchCon San Diego. He has also said that he is getting in contact with JiDion to delete the video as he recorded without Tommy's consent.[16]
A few days later, JiDion responded on a stream at YouTube stating that he didn't harass Tommy whatsoever, as well as saying on the stream that the reason he couldn't check Tommy's DM on Twitter is that he was locked out of his account for a couple of days. He also said on his stream that he would not delete the footage, as he wanted the footage to speak for itself.[17]
After the video was released, it was proven that he did not harass Tommy or his fans. This caused backlash against Tommy and most of the Twitter users have told Tommy on the replies of his tweets that he should give an apology to JiDion.
On August 10, 2022, Tommy had said on his stream that they squashed their beef with each other and have called on the phone, saying that he had a misunderstanding with JiDion. Tommy also read all of his replies on his tweets to apologize to JiDion.[18]
SMP participation[]
SMPEarth[]
The first SMP he joined was SMPEarth. He was one of the last-minute members of the roster. He managed to get in due to a last-minute YouTube Gaming live stream. Information about his SMPEarth time can be found here.
AnotherSMP[]
A few days after March 12, 2020, Tommy was added on the AnotherSMP (aka AnothaSMP). He only made around 5 streams on the server, and none of them turned into content on his main channel, but still went onto his VODS Channel. He often played with TimeDeo on the server.
SMPInnit[]
On May 12, 2020 TommyInnit opened up a Minecraft realm with a real-life friend, Eryn. Eventually, the roster grew to RudyInnit, TimeDeo, VoiceoverPete, Wisp, Badlinu, Bitzel, and JackManifoldTV. On May 13, 2020, VoiceOverPete unofficially named it SMPInnit. Tommy lived in the T Tower along with TimeDeo and Jack.
The SMPInnit ended in June-July 2020 when Tommy chose to focus more on the Dream SMP.
Blockworth[]
Tommy was part of an SMP called Blockworth with many of his friends and other YouTubers. He recorded and uploaded the videos on the TommyOutit channel. Currently, all Blockworth content from Tommy is either privated or deleted.
Dream SMP[]
Tommy is a part of Dream's SMP, where he started a war with Dream over music discs. Tommy had also joined L'Manberg (past name Manberg), a separate part of the Dream Team SMP which declared independence from them. L'Manberg's members are Tommy, Wilbur Soot, Tubbo, Fundy, JackManifoldTV, Quackity, Niki Nihachu, and (formerly) Eret. L'Manberg had been raided frequently by Dream, GeorgeNotFound, Sapnap, Purpled, Punz, and Ponk, who banded together to fight them in ongoing war-like battles. L'Manberg was then taken over by Jschlatt after the events of the L'Manberg election, where Tommy and Wilbur were banned from L'Manberg, which was then renamed to Manberg by Jschlatt. Tommy became part of Pogtopia, a commune formed by Wilbur for the purpose of taking down Schlatt. Tubbo was a spy for them, before his execution at the hands of Technoblade. After some amount of plot, Wilbur blew up L'Manberg, and Technoblade spawned two withers (one notably named "Subscribe to Technoblade). After the blowup, Tubbo, "Ghostbur," and such rebuilt L'Manberg, them living in L'Manberg along with Quackity, Ranboo, Ph1LzA, and Fundy. Karl Jacobs, Dream, and GeorgeNotFound, while not having a house in L'Manberg, hung out quite a lot in the area. Tubbo was forced by Dream to exile Tommy, but Tommy eventually got out of exile. Dream and Technoblade eventually blew L'Manberg up again, and Dream was locked in prison. Dream took Tommys last canon life during a visit, but revived him. He also revived Wilbur. Dream eventually was broken out of prison by Technoblade.
OTV SMP[]
Season 1[]
Tommy was a Season 1 Player of the OTV SMP, he is a guest player on there and never played Season 2. Tubbo was in the server too. Due to Server IP getting leaked, the server shutted down.
Season 2[]
Sometime after Offline TV SMP Season 2 was Released, Tommy was re-whitelisted on the SMP at Day 8 with Tubbo (on Day 4) as a FTB and the one of the first Dream SMP Members to join Offline TV SMP. However, he dosent play that much on the OTV SMP as his main Minecraft content is the Dream SMP, same to Tubbo.
TommySMP[]
He opened a Minecraft Server with assistance of Tubbo and Ranboo that has the proximity chat mod. The Server was used for him and Beautie_'s platonic date in Minecraft.[19] After their platonic date was done, it was never used until October 18, 2021 when he started inviting more people on the server.
On December 29, 2021, it was announced by Tommy when he logged in at the server on-stream with Tubbo that it will be a SMP now after having the Voice Chat mod updated to 1.18.1 and as it cannot stand as a Recording server anymore. It was named TommySMP.
The roster of the server is him, Tubbo, Ranboo, Dream, DanTDM, Corpse Husband, Dangthatsalongname, Mumbo Jumbo, Grian, JeromeASF, McYum, aimsey, billzo and Eryn.
Origins SMP[]
Origins SMP is a server with the Origins mod which allows players to select an "origin", giving them powers and weaknesses based on a minecraft mob. The server recently started up again, and they are playing on a 1.18 experimental snapshot with the new Caves and Cliffs world generation. Tommy has chosen the Avian origin, allowing him to fall gently to the ground as a feather would unless he sneaks, can be a little bit quicker on foot than others, have to sleep in higher altitudes and only being able to eat vegetables.[20]
LifeSteal SMP[]
He joined the LifeSteal SMP on April 26, 2022 and joined 2 days later on April 28, 2022 via ClownPierce's video titled: "I Became Minecraft's Greatest Hunter...".[21][22]
Brighton Meetup[]
On August 7, 2020, Tommy met up with Tubbo. The next day, he met up with Wilbur Soot, Ph1LzA, Fundy and Niki Nihachu in Brighton. He documented this in a vlog. After going to the arcade and purchasing 2 "vlog guns" (nerf guns) and a yo-yo in return for arcade tickets, Tommy, along with Wilbur's housemate and fellow SootHouse member David, stole Wilbur's wallet and office key to gain access into his office where he streams. Tommy started streaming and was interrupted after 5 minutes by Wilbur who had discovered he was in his office and streaming. The live stream ended abruptly and Wilbur quickly went live again to apologize for Tommy's misbehaving. After all the shenanigans, Tommy ended up accidentally leaving both vlog guns in Wilbur's office, one of which was later destroyed on stream by Wilbur in MCC8, and the second one to be accidentally broken by Wilbur in MCC9, again on stream.
He later on got the second vlog gun back (even through it was broken) on January 11, 2022.[23][24]
MC Championship[]
MC Championship is a Minecraft Tournament for YouTubers and streamers run by the Noxcrew, in which 10 teams of four compete in a series of 8 minigames decided by the participants. A point multiplier makes each game worth more as each round passes, incentivizing teams to vote for games they might be bad at early on in the event. In the end, the two teams with the most points face off in a round of ‘Dodgebolt’ to decide the winner of the tournament. This makes it possible for a team to win despite potentially having fewer points than the runner-up.
- MC Championship 1: Did not participate.
- MC Championship 2: Team Cyan Creepers. Teamed with CaptainSparklez, Captain Puffy and Ph1LzA. Placed 2nd individual and his team placed 2nd overall.
- MC Championship 3: Team Purple Pandas. Teamed with Bitzel, Captain Puffy and VoiceoverPete. Placed 9th individual and his team placed 4th overall.
- MC Championship 4: Team Purple Pandas. Teamed with Technoblade, Wilbur Soot and Ph1LzA. Placed 7th individual and his team placed 1st overall, winning Dodgebolt and the tournament.
- This was where his memorable quote “Just killed a woman, feeling good” came from during Rocket Spleef in Round 3.
- MC Championship 5: Team Aqua Horses. Teamed with PeteZahHutt, Vikkstar123 and Eret. Placed 16th individual and his team placed 2nd overall.
- MC Championship 6: Team Aqua Horses. Teamed with Krinios, Sylvee and MiniMuka. Placed 18th individual and his team placed 8th overall.
- MC Championship 7: Team Pink Parrots. Teamed with Fundy, RTGame and Plumbella. Placed 23rd individual and his team placed 7th overall.
- Tommy's stream crashed at the beginning of the event, so his perspective cannot be seen as he did not continue to stream.
- MC Championship 8: Team Red Rabbits. Teamed with Ph1LzA, Wilbur Soot and Dangthatsalongname.
- Just before the event began, Wilbur stated that people on the MCC subreddit were saying that Tommy was a genuinely good player in MCC but that he messes around when he is on a team with Wilbur. As Wilbur was now in possession of both of Tommy's vlog guns (from the Brighton Meetup), he decided to set him an ultimatum to make Tommy try his best at the tournament. His ultimatum for Tommy was as follows:
- 1st place: Wilbur will mail Tommy the vlog gun and send him a £5000 donation.
- 3rd place or higher: Wilbur will mail Tommy the vlog gun.
- 5th place or higher: The vlog gun won't get destroyed and Tommy can join Sleepyboisinc.
- 6-10th place: The vlog gun will get destroyed.
- After 3 of 8 game rounds, Red Rabbits were in 2nd place, and 1st place was within the team's sights. Due to game glitches and crashes happening throughout the event, they ended up placing 6th, and much to Tommy's dismay, Wilbur stomped on the vlog gun on stream. As there was still one remaining vlog gun, Wilbur asked Scott (the organizer of MCC, who was also on their team) if they could play as the same team next event to try to win without glitches. Tommy was hesitant to agree as he knew his friend Tubbo was playing next event and wanted to be on the same team as him, but when Wilbur threatened to destroy the second vlog gun immediately instead, Tommy agreed.

- The vlog gun was deemed safe at Wilbur's office awaiting collection by Tommy. However, when Wilbur went to fire a shot from the vlog gun in honor of getting top 5, he accidentally broke it as Tommy was watching.
- This event, Tommy was playing for the second vlog gun. Wilbur's ultimatum for Tommy was the same as the one for MCC8, with one difference:
- MC Championship 10: Team Aqua Axolotls. Teamed with Tubbo, Wilbur Soot and Pokimane. Placed 26th individual and his team placed 7th overall.
- Switched calls to ask Dream if Pokimane could be whitelisted on the Dream SMP, he said yes.
- For the majority of the game, Pokimane didn't have the right texture pack on.
- MC Championship 11: Team Violet Vampires. Teamed with Fundy, Wilbur Soot and Quackity. Placed 5th individual and his team placed 3rd overall.
- Wilbur and Tommy mentioned they were predicted by many people on Reddit to place 6th at the highest and 10th at the lowest since most believed they would throw for content with Quackity playing it for the first time, basing their predictions on MCC10's Aqua Axolotls. These predictions were proven false as the team has seen then and agreed to play the best they could to prove everyone wrong.

- Tommy posts various funny tweets on Twitter. He also often posts about drugs and women, and randomly capitalizing the start of some words for funny or ironic effect. Tommy often gets Wilbur Soot to ghostwrite his tweets for him.[42]
- On November 5, 2020, he started using a bot (which has been suspended) made by a fan to create his tweets. Wilbur also uses the same bot (one tweet, deleted). These tweets are only occasional, and he still does come up with other tweets himself.
- Tommy trolls BadBoyHalo by saying swear words while he streams.
- He is ambidextrous, or mix-handed; in a stream, he informed his audience that he prefers to play videogames with his left hand and sports with his right.
- On September 12, 2020, because of his team's result in MCC9, he joined Sleepyboisinc which is made up of him, Wilbur Soot, Technoblade and Ph1LzA.
- Ranboo, Tubbo and Tommy are considered to be the "Benchtrio" by fans. Later on they started using the name officially.[43]
