Although originated in Rio, funk carioca has become increasingly popular amongst different people groups in other parts of Brazil, such as São Paulo and Brasilia. Throughout the entirety of Brazil, Funk Carioca Baile is most often simply known as funk, although it is very different from funk in other parts of the world.
