Evelien Smolders (born: September 11, 1988 (1988-09-11) [age 36]), better known online as Gab Smolders (formerly GirlGamerGab and GG Gab), is a Dutch gaming YouTuber who primarily plays horror games. She also regularly streams on Twitch. Gab is Dutch but has once lived in Japan. Gab speaks Japanese, which she uses on her channel by translating Japanese games she plays, most notably horror games, such as Fatal Frame and Ikenie no Yoru. She learned Japanese at Leiden University in the Netherlands.

The name Gab comes from her original Dutch username 'GebrekAanBeter,' meaning 'for a lack of better,' as all other usernames she tried were already taken.

She has done collaboration videos with Sinow, John Wolfe, MrKravin, Suzy Berhow, Arin Hanson, Stefanie Joosten and TheRPGMinx. Her ex-husband, Pyke (TaiyouInc). was also known by her fans as 'Gab-Man,' also occasionally joined in her videos.

Fans occasionally refer to themselves as 'Gabbers.'

Personal Life[]

From an unknown year until 2018 Gab was married to a YouTuber named TaiyouInc, real name Pyke.

On the March 15, 2019 it was announced via photos on their respective social medias that Gab is in a relationship with Jacksepticeye.

Controversy[]

Racism Allegations[]

Gab has had an alleged controversy about being racist towards Japanese people. People called her out for when she said in one of streams "Japanese people fucks up everything" and people also called her out for when she said "herro" to a Japanese character in a video game in 2015. She has also allegedly said that Japanese people are bad at English, for which she apologized according to this article[1]
