Maria (born: July 22, 1986), better known online as Gentle Whispering ASMR (formerly GentleWhispering) is a Russian-American YouTuber. She makes ASMR videos. She has lived in the United States since May 2006, and she currently resides in California. She uploaded her first video in June 2011.

Gentle Whispering ASMR is known for her soothing, uplifting videos. Her earliest video is Whispering in English and Russian and flipping through a magazine, posted on June 3, 2011. Her most popular video is a "sleep-inducing" haircut roleplay, which also includes magazine flipping. She uses both soft speech and whispering, and posts an array of video types, most often roleplays, how-to-videos, object-focused trigger explorations, or 1-on-1 style whispered conversations and affirmations.
ASMR Roleplays[]
Gentle Whispering often posts ASMR roleplay videos. She has played many parts, including aesthetician, tailor, sleep therapist, flight attendant, salesperson, fortune teller, Mrs. Claus, and Marilyn Monroe. The viewer is sometimes assigned a specific role, too, such as being a tree that she is decorating.
ASMR Triggers[]
Gentle Whispering focuses on triggering ASMR from soft talking, whispers, visuals, personal attention such as hair-brushing, and repetitive touching of materials like wood and fabric. There is a de-emphasis on wet sounds in her channel overall, although a few videos do feature chewing, aesthetic creams and so on. Many of her uploads are "traditional" trigger videos, where the triggering objects form the primary theme, for example this fabrics showcase video.
