―June's Intro

This is a sponsored video because we've gotta save up money for our studio!

―June's jingle before introducing sponsorships

June Lynn Gustin (born: May 17, 1997 (1997-05-17) [age 27]),[citation needed] better known online as GinjaNinjaOwO or by their mascot's name, Rea, is an American animator and artist on YouTube. They joined YouTube on September 4, 2011.

History[]

June joined YouTube in 2011 and has over 1.2 million subscribers. They have also amassed over 194 million views from their videos. They do speed paints, animations, story-time videos, and design challenges. They also work as a freelance animator, collaborating with many other YouTubers. They are currently working towards producing an official, animated web series with their team.

On October 19, 2022, June's Google account was hacked by Bitcoin scammers. Their account was temporarily renamed MicroStrategy US (an impersonation of a Bitcoin company of the same name) before the channel was permanently terminated, all of the content was lost two hours later. As of October 22, June has regained access to their Google account, resulting in their channel being restored. This didn’t happen to just them; this also happened to countless other YouTubers in the past.

On August 31st, 2024, it was announced that June would be joining the collaboration channel, Toonuki Lab, replacing Ivan Animated as its fifth member.

Equipment[]

June uses Adobe Animate CC for animation, Adobe Premiere Pro CC for editing, and Clip Studio Paint for making art.

Personal Life[]

June was born on May 17, 1997, in Texas. They grew up with their younger brother, Greg, and in their "My Dad - Storytime" video, they mentioned that they were a "Daddy's Girl" when they were young. However, their father tragically died in 2018.

His height is 5'1 (155 centimeters) tall. He's very extroverted and is diagnosed with ADHD. He has two pets: a cat named Bella-Bella and a shiba-inu dog named Jenko.

They are bisexual and nonbinary, using they/he pronouns and preferring masculine honorifics. [1] [2] [3]

Trivia[]

  • While Rea previously represented June as a person, they later became more of a character that June plays.
    • He later told his viewers to think of Rea as, quote: "the fairy who stole my deadname." [4]
  • According to June, they only wear shorts because they dislike pants.
    • Since he is very short, the difference is barely noticeable most of the time.
  • They have been drawing and animating since 2008.
  • His favorite TV show is "Oban Star-Racers"
  • They frequently lose their belongings, especially their drawing tablet pens.
    • He loses his pens so often that he has a mug, dubbed the "I Hate Money" cup, full of pens he thought were lost, got replaced, but then were found again.
  • They enjoy collecting particular kitchenware like novelty mugs, odd looking spoons, and shot glasses.
  • Contrary to popular belief, the "OwO" at the end of June's channel name is not actually read as a full word, but rather spelled out.
    • In a video, he said that this online alias of theirs came before "OwO" as a full word was popularized on the Internet as a meme.
      • Nonetheless, he previously said he never felt like changing his channel name due to the common misread, because, quote: "I refuse to change my brand for YOUR memes even if I am an OwO-ass bitch!"[5]
  • They name their possessions, and often encourage their friends to do the same.
  • When he was younger, he used to have a crush on Nicholas Cage and David Hasselhoff.[6]
  • June's first job was being a character actor for Tweety Bird. According to June, they were assigned to play Tweety because they were "the only one short enough to fit in the costume."[7]
