Chris (born July 24, 1998), better known online as Gokanaru, is a Canadian commentary YouTuber.

Content

Gokanaru started out uploading clips of his gameplay of Call of Duty:Black Ops, his first video being "Black Ops: Funny 15th Prestige Lobby Prank!". He would go on to upload clips from games such as Minecraft, The Wolf Among Us, GTA V, Dead Rising, Agar.io, Garry's mod and Halo 4. He would also occasionally make YTPs and shitposts before deciding to move to commentary videos. He has not made a video ever since June 19, 2020, but he remains active on social media, and has claimed he will start making videos later.^{[citation needed]}

On September 24, 2022, Gokanaru returned to YouTube with the video The REAL Problem with Youtube.

Personal life

He's half Italian through his father, one quarter Greek through his mother.^{[citation needed]}

Chris graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in marketing in 2021.^{[citation needed]}

Controversy

Gokanaru made a video critical of Ethan Klein of the H3H3 podcast, called "The death of h3h3 - Video Vigilante", calling out his hypocrisies. However, the video was promptly taken down. It is largely suspected Ethan himself got it taken down, due to his contacts on YouTube, as well as the fact in the episode where he hosts Gus Johnson, it can be seen that Ethan searched Gokanaru's username. However, KeemStar was able to re-upload it.

Ethan himself responded to the video, but Chris also criticized it due for many reasons, such as Ethan criticizing him for calling Shoenice an alcoholic, despite later saying himself said that Shoenice was always drunk. Many alleged that Ethan also cut out certain parts of Gokanaru's video, selectively editing what he responded to. The video had a ratio of 66K Likes VS 22K Dislikes.

Diesel patches decided to host a call on Hangouts with him talking about the response. In the call, Chris said that he was surprised Ethan even responded, and responded so formally. They also mentioned that while they understood that Ethan had depression, he was using it constantly as a shield against any criticism he got.

• His fans would consistently joke that he looks like a dark haired version of Logan Paul. He would reference this joke in multiple videos.^{[citation needed]}
• Turkey Tom once called him "my favorite Jewish YouTuber", however he has clarified that he isn't Jewish.^{[citation needed]}
