Google Play, (formerly known as Android Market)[citation needed], is an app store that is owned by Google.

The company was originally called Android Market until March 6, 2012, when the company was rebranded to Google Play. This happened shortly after bringing together many other companies that are owned by Google.[1]
Google Play came to ChromeOS during September 2016.[2]
On May 2021, Google Play announces plans to add a new section with privacy information.[citation needed]

The YouTube channel was launched 6 years before Google Play was founded on June 24, 2006.[3] As of today the channel uploads content on Google Play.
