Grace Avery[citation needed] VanderWaal (born: January 15, 2004 (2004-01-15) [age 21])[1] is an American[citation needed] singer, songwriter, and actress.[citation needed]

Personal life[]

Grace was born on January 15, 2004 in Kansas to Tina and David VanderWaal. She would later be raised in Suffern, New York.[citation needed]

Grace would be very into music at a young age. At age 11, she would buy her first ukulele and would compose several original songs. She would post original songs and covers on her YouTube channel starting in 2015.[2][3]

America's Got Talent[]

In 2016, Grace would audition on the famous TV show America's Got Talent.[4] She performed an original song written by herself and played the ukulele.[5] She would sing her original song "I Don't Know My Name". Judge Howie Mandel would give her performance a golden buzzer.[6] She would also win $1,000,000 after winning the entire season.[7] Years later, Grace would say that she had no memory of it.[8]

Aftermath[]

Grace would receive praise and support and other famous singers, even receiving a gift from Taylor Swift.[9] Using some of the $1,000,000 she received from America's Got Talent, Grace would donate to charity.[10] Grace would go on to release EPs and a studio album.[citation needed]
