Grounding Countries (born: April 22, 2008) is a Canadian YouTuber known for making videos "grounding" every country around the world. He also does history videos.
History[]
On September 1, 2022, Grounding Countries created its first video named "China Gets Grounded".[1] The video was immediately hated due to the supposed hatred of Chinese people, and everyone was generally mad at the videos.
His channel gained popularity after he made the “Philippines Gets Grounded” video.[2] He eventually ended the first season with “Grounding Countries gets Ungrounded” in response to all the “Grounding Countries gets Grounded” videos.[3]
Criticism[]
The channel was criticized for being supposedly xenophobic and promoting hatred against countries. It was sooner revealed that Grounding Countries turned out to be a troll, later on gaining lots of supporters and eventually fewer haters, as his haters would turn out to be troll-feeding. As a result, the true reveal also stayed the same as “North Korea Gets Grounded”, which got the most likes in GC history.
Seasons[]
He has finished one season (Grounding Countries, Continents, UN, and Ungrounding himself). Season 2 was grounding countries for a reason which concluded after less than around a month. Grounding Countries is now grounding his haters on his community tab and occasionally grounds country subdivisions.

- The countries are being grounded from the biggest-to-smallest population.
- Sometime after he started uploading the oldest video, "China Gets Grounded", India took China's population rank. However, this video was the oldest before India took China's rank.
- He created a playlist "A-Z" to make viewers easily see if their country has been grounded.
- Grounding Countries uses a text-to-speech voice "Joey".
