Home Box Office, initialized as HBO, is an American television network that launched on November 8, 1972. It was founded by Charles Dolan.

History[]

Dolan founded Manhattan Cable TV Services, a cable system serving for the Manhattan area. It was known for the first urban underground cable television system to operate in the US. He then started a new cable channel, The Green Channel. After many proposals for cable channels, HBO was finally founded. It was originally planned to release under the Wilkes-Barres system of a different company. The first airing transmitted through HBO was an NHL game between the New York Rangers and the Vancouver Canucks.

Channel[]

The channel was created on May 17, 2006, and the first video was uploaded on February 8, 2008. The channel originally uploaded a mini-series titled Flight of the Concords.

Content[]

It currently uploads clips and trailers of movies and TV shows on HBO.
