Nicole O Johnson (born: November 27, 1998 (1998-11-27))^{[citation needed]}, better known online as Harriyanna Hook, is an American^{[citation needed]} YouTuber who talks about the harmful themes in children's media, usually racism, sexism, representation, misogynoir, ableism, fatphobia and other related themes.

Content

She started out making nail tutorial videos, and her channel was named iNickel at the time. Some of them were Disney themed, cartoon themed or celebrity themed. She would also vlog her experiences at school, at her talent show, with her friends or her acting career. She would also review music, and also participated in cosplay and facilitation reviewing.^{[citation needed]}

Her first video analyzing media, which later became the focus of her channel later, was on Descendants' Mal and why she hated her. She went on to critique the hatedom of Victoria Justice and Selena Gomez and racism in Disney/Nick sitcoms.

Regarding racism, she has a number of videos calling out celebrities for their racist and discriminatory behaviour. After receiving encouragement and praise from more creators, she made critcizng abuse, racism and sexism in media the trademark of her channel.

She was an extra on Disney's Legacies. As an actress, she is vocal about the maltreatment of actors by both media, fandom and executive producers.^{[citation needed]}

Criticism

Harriyanna has received numerous criticisms for her controversial opinions on what's racist in popular shows. Her review of The Simpsons especially drew ire, due to her opinions on white voice actors voicing minority characters.

WandaVision Controversy

In 2020, Harriyanna uploaded a video discussing the misogynoir of the show WandaVision due to how the show treated Monica Rambeu's characterization. Many people disliked the video, including a lesser known YouTuber named Agrandmonkey, who made a more detailed response to her and pointed out the flaws in her video. However, Harriyanna accused Agrandmonkey of being racist (despite Agrandmonkey being black) and told her fans to report his video. Many of her fans purposefully assumed that Agrandmonkey was a "racist white man" and started attacking him and his interests rather than his own opinions of the show.
