Hyper Potions is an American electronic band with the sole and only member, Ian "Sushi Killer" Tsuchiura (born: November 17, 1994 (1994-11-17) [age 29]). The band is also known for its anime-inspired tune and created background pieces of music for the Sonic game franchise. Formerly, Kevin Villecco (birthday: August 23) was a part of Hyper Potions, but as of March 18, 2023, Kevin is no longer a member of the project due to sexual harassment allegations, making Ian the sole member of the group.[1]

Formation[]

Ian "Sushi Killer" Tsuchiura & Kevin Villecco debuted on Monstercat with the song titled "Anime Bae" which was released on October 21, 2014. Months later, they decided to form a duo, naming themselves "Hyper Potions", which is taken from a Pokémon item. They released their first single on Monstercat titled "Porta Vista".

  • Ian Masato "Sushi Killer" Tsuchiura is an American DJ and producer. He was born in Salinas, California, on November 17, 1994. He is known to have been close friends with Shawn Wasabi.
  • Kevin Christopher Villecco is an American DJ. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His birthdate is known to be August 23, but the year is still unknown. Villecco learned about music production in his early life.

  • Both of them have an enthusiasm for playing games. As for Ian, his favorite games are Mega Man X, the Pokemon series, and the Kingdom Hearts series, while Kevin's games consist of Phantasy Star Online, DOTA 2, Rocket League, and Overwatch.[2]
  • As of now, Hyper Potions has appeared in the Sonic Mania, Sonic Mania Adventures, and Team Sonic Racing OSTs. They have also appeared in the 2020 Sonic the Hedgehog movie.
  • Kevin Villecco has been removed from Hyper Potions after has been accused of grooming and abusing his ex-wife.[3]
