Hey! That's pretty good!

  +
Ian created his first channel on March 26, 2010 and uploaded two videos on it. However, he created another channel on August 12, 2012 which is now his main. His first video on there was uploaded on August 30, 2012, was of him playing the Holiday levels of the game Overgrowth. Like many other YouTubers, he started out gaming. IDubbbz continued to upload gaming videos on his channel until March 18, 2013, when he released his first “Gaming News Crap” video, which was the origin of his Kickstarter Crap series. Although iDubbbz kept making gaming videos, his more popular series, Kickstarter Crap, and Bad Unboxing took a higher priority over these videos.

  +
He has collaborated with multiple large content creators including Jacksfilms, H3h3Productions, Boyinaband, PewDiePie, Vsauce, Ricky Berwick, Philip DeFranco, and Gus Johnson.
iDubbbzTV, real name Ian Washburn, was born July 22nd 1990 [age 26] in San Antonio, Texas. iDubbbz is a YouTuber who is widely known for his Kickstarter Crap videos, his Content Cop videos—specifically his ones directed at Jinx, Keemstar, LeafyIsHere, and Tana Mongeau—and his videos with the YouTubers Filthy Frank and Maxmoefoe. iDubbbz created his channel August 12, 2012. Although iDubbbz kept making gaming videos, his more popular series, Kickstarter Crap, and Bad Unboxing took a higher priority over these videos, as they slowly got uploaded at a higher rate.

Since 2019, Ian has been creating documentaries on popular internet topics. So far, three have been produced, titled Full Force, Ice Cream Man, and Getting Away With It, focusing on Airsoftfatty, Daxflame, and Sam Hyde, respectively. In late 2020, Ian began streaming on Twitch and started the channel idubbbzStream, where videos of his stream highlights will be posted.
Physical description
iDubbbz has relatively short brown hair and wears black horn-rimmed glasses. His approximate height would be around 1.8288m, or 6 feet, based on a tweet with him standing beside Joey Salads, who is 6'1". However, he stood next to a 6'4" man in a vlog and did not appear much shorter.

:Main article: Content Cop
Arguably iDubbbz's most successful series, the Content Cop videos are satire aimed at content creators who are acting in a controversial or disrespectful manner. This series brought in over 50 million views combined and includes videos about large channels such as DramaAlert, LeafyIsHere, and the Fine Brothers.

  +
Arguably, iDubbbz's most successful series, Content Cop is aimed toward creators of various topics in which their content is highly questionable or poorly executed. The series had brought in over 250 million views combined for him.

Content Cop episodes begin with a sketch of iDubbbz wearing a cop costume as he pursues a suspect to the soundtrack of Otis McMusic , eventually breaking down into a scuffle between the two, before we cut to iDubbbz sitting down in his studio to begin talking about the channel or channels in question, with no mention being made of the opening fight - even if the sketch ends with the Content Cop apparently being killed or, in one case, the suspect stealing his uniform and running away.

Content Cop diss track
Controversy
On October 3, 2017, iDubbbzTV made a diss track titled "Asian Jake Paul" about the YouTuber RiceGum. In the diss track, he featured Boyinaband, he was also helped by Anisaj, H3h3Productions, Jacksfilms, Internet Comment Etiquette with Erik, Ali the Cabbage, PewDiePie, Sive, and HowToBasic.

On 10 December 2016, Tana Mongeau, a fellow YouTuber tweeted at iDubbbz saying he should kill himself because he uses "the n word" and "retard". Tana later deleted the tweet because one of her fans committed suicide. On 21 January 2017 iDubbbz, along with his girlfriend Anisa, went to Tana Mongeau's fan meetup. Anisa was also recording on a camera, which was later used for the Content Cop on Tana Mongeau. iDubbbz decided to take a photo with Tana, but instead of saying "Say cheese!" he said "Say nigger!", after that iDubbbz was kicked out. Tana made a video about the situation, titled "The N Word". She says nothing about iDubbbz in the video, just explains what happened with the meet and greet and how it's a racist word. She was really dramatic, crying and said that a fan came up to her and wrapped his arm around her neck and said "Say nigger!" out loud. When in reality, iDubbbz put his arm around her own arm, and said "Say nigger!" under his breath. To add to the total hypocrisy of this so-called "controversy", Tana has also been recorded calling strangers the N-word herself as well as using the N-word in a number of posts on her Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Boxing career
On February 6, 2017, iDubbbz released a video titled “Content Cop – Tana Mongeau”, a part of his Content Cop series. In it, he defends his use of the word “nigger” and accuses Mongeau of hypocrisy by showing past clips of her uttering the word. He stated that his use of the word is not meant to offend as it is done in a comedic context, whilst he deemed Mongeau’s use of the word to be racist. In the video, Ian also shows footage from the incident at Mongeau's show and criticizes her response to it. He also discusses the use of derogatory terms in a broader context, and the weight which society places on specific words in terms of their offensiveness.

Tana Mongeau drama
  +

  +
On December 10, 2016, YouTuber Tana Mongeau tweeted on Twitter at iDubbbz, saying he should kill himself because he uses "the N-word" and the word "retard" frequently. Tana later deleted the tweet because one of her fans had recently died of suicide then.
  +
  +
On January 21, 2017, iDubbbz, along with his girlfriend Anisa, went to Tana Mongeau's fan meetup. Anisa was also recording on a camera, which was later used for the Content Cop episode on Tana Mongeau. iDubbbz decided to take a photo with Tana, but instead of saying "Say cheese!" he said, "Say n*gger!"; after that, iDubbbz was kicked out.
  +
  +
Tana made a video about the situation, titled "The N Word". She says nothing about iDubbbz in the video, just explains what happened at the meet and greet and her thoughts on how the word should be used. She described the incident with a few exaggerations, which were later pointed out in the Content Cop. After this controversy, people pointed out how Tana herself has also been recorded calling people by the N-word.
  +
  +
On February 6, 2017, iDubbbz released a Content Cop video on her, in which he defends his use of the word "n*gger" and accuses Mongeau of hypocrisy by showing past clips of her uttering the same word. He stated that his use of the word is not meant to offend others as it is done in a comedic context, whilst he deemed Mongeau’s use of the word to be racist. In the video, Ian also shows footage from the incident at Mongeau's show and criticizes her response to it. He also discusses the use of derogatory terms in a broader context, and the weight which society places on specific words in terms of their offensiveness. iDubbbz gained over 200,000 subscribers in three days at the height of the controversy.

Anisa Jomha's OnlyFans
  +
In March 2020, Ian's girlfriend Anisa Jomha opened an account on the site OnlyFans, a paid service to view uncensored images and 18+ content posted from its creators and have it monetized. This resulted in significant attacks on Ian's minute response and silence over his girlfriend opening this account with many calling Ian a "simp" or in some cases a "Content Cuck" due to Ian's silence on this matter. Anisa was already not well liked by iDubbbz's fans due to her controversial actions in the past. Many also condemned Ian for being a hypocrite due to Ian criticizing "booby" streamers and female streamers/content creators who used their body for likes/views on YouTube and Twitch yet Ian not applying the double standard to his girlfriend's behavior online.
  +
  +
Ian’s response
  +
On March 28, 2020, Ian posted a response video to the drama with him and his girlfriend’s OnlyFans. He starts out saying that there are a group of people that make memes out of the drama for fun and laughs and then there are a group of people that take the drama to another level, insulting him and harassing him due to his girlfriend’s decision of opening an OnlyFans account. Ian then talks about how his fans suddenly turn against him because of the drama and tells them that he is not their dad and if they don’t look up to him anymore, he thinks that’s fine. Ian then goes on to show some examples of fans that turn against him.
  +
  +
After, Ian then goes on to address people calling him a hypocrite and tells them that his opinions have been consistent throughout his YouTube career, even showing clips of him talking about sex work. Ian then goes on to say that he thinks his response video is the “most intelligent thing [he’s] ever done” because of him showing “this side of him.” And to conclude, Ian addresses a person that criticize him about the OnlyFans drama through a video.
  +
  +
YouTubers respond
  +
Soon after Ian’s response video came out, YouTubers such as PewDiePie, penguinz0, DramaAlert and SomeOrdinaryGamers respond to the OnlyFans drama and the response video Ian made. Some of these YouTubers call Ian’s arguments weak and that his arguments are usually really well thought out and that many people can get behind it. In Penguinz0’s response, he says that he doesn’t get why the drama is a thing and thinks that his audience is overreacting to the OnlyFans drama. In the comments of Penguinz’s video, many people say that his argument to the drama was better than Ian’s argument. This is the case for other YouTubers who say the drama was unnecessary.
  +
  +
LeafyIsHere’s response
  +
On March 31, 2020, LeafyIsHere, a popular commentary YouTuber who left YouTube in 2017, posted a 30-second video responding to the drama by calling him a “cuck.” The video quickly amassed views and Leafy became trending worldwide on Twitter shortly after the video’s release. People then speculated that Leafy has returned to YouTube and will continue to make videos. On social media, people made jokes about Leafy using a trial version of Sony Vegas when he is a multimillionaire due to his former YouTube career. In an interview conducted by Keemstar (DramaAlert), Leafy is surprised by hearing him trending on Twitter. Keemstar then asks Leafy if he will return to YouTube, but he responds with a no, saying that YouTube is a bad website and that all his videos have copyright strikes or is demonetized and if he does make videos, then they are for fun rather than for ad revenue. Keem then tells Leafy that most YouTubers in 2020 don’t make videos for just the ad revenue and that they have merchandise and other sorts of stuff that help get YouTubers paid another way other than YouTube. Leafy then says that he won’t post on YouTube and jokingly says that he will go big on MySpace instead. Leafy then returned to Youtube, getting into multiple feuds with Ethan Klein and Pokimane, which resulted in his channel being terminated.

Sam Hyde
  +
In March 2021, Ian traveled to Cranston, Rhode Island, United States to meet with the notorious YouTuber and comedian, Sam Hyde and members of his current production team in order to film a documentary for his YouTube channel called "Getting Away With It". Unbeknownst to Ian, Hyde had planned an elaborate ruse to present a purposefully strange and somewhat disturbing image. This included renting out a recently converted dentist’s office at 385 Columbia Avenue and turning it into a purposefully cramped and disorganized production space, getting his friends to pose as a fake production team, and paying a friend from the Rhode Island School of Design to shave her head and pretend to be Hyde’s drug-addicted, emotionally abused girlfriend. Ian spent five days in Rhode Island with Hyde and his “crew.” The documentary, which had originally been slated for release in mid-2021, did not come out until February 2022. According to Hyde, Ian was disappointed enough with the experience that he left the footage untouched for several months instead of working on outing the video together right away.

Anthony Padilla interview
  +
On March 10, 2023, Anthony Padilla interviewed Ian where he talked about his controversial past. When talking about his interactions with fans, he talks about his fans negatively and talked about poor experiences with them, saying "There were quite a few human beings that I interacted with that just sucked. They just sucked because I attracted a lot of people who suck. Some people, as I described earlier, were very much anti-social, weird basement dwellers." He also says that his fans would say offensive slurs when meeting with Ian, which he thought of as inappropriate. Some fans criticized Ian for mocking his former fans and also pointed out how Ian encouraged this behavior in his old videos.

In his Content Cop apology video, he clarified saying he had encouraged that "anti-social, weird basement dweller" behavior and said he was no better than those type of fans.

Tyler responded by asking "Who tried to reach out to me several times and what are the several violations?", implying that he had no idea of what he did to get banned. In his account of the events, he claimed that Ian had asked him to stop making content with Sam Hyde, which he complied with. In another tweet, he said "I got one email minutes before Creator Clash went publuich about my termination. Justin Tracey called me while I was in Providence working with Sam. On May 5, Ian uploadeded a video admitting that Tyler's friendship with Sam Hyde was the reason he was blacklisted from Creator Clash. This was critisized by many as Ian himself had a history of making edgy jokes, including saying racial/homophobic slurs such as "n*ggerf&gg*t". Others also thought the joke wasn't offensive since several men were subscribed to her OnlyFans anyway.

Ian also attempted to sue Tyler for speaking out against his banning. SomeOrdinaryGamers offered to pay for Tyler's legal fees, stating "Threatening litigation like this kinda worries me, but I hate it when smaller creators have to face any legal crap, it ruins lives. ===Content Cop apology===
  +
On May 18, 2023, Ian posted a video titled "I miss the old idubbbz" in which he goes over his feelings about himself and his old videos. He says he feels that he created a hurtful series and toxic fanbase, mainly the Content Cop series or other videos which he claims were too hurtful or had no evidence. Ian says he blames himself for encouraging harassment and hate amongst his fans, while also saying he created these videos due to his own insecurities and issues, such as an example he gave where a fan mistook him for being transphobic. While he didn't take his edgy humor series due to his good intentions and taking no responsibility for his audiences' actions, he realizes that he was still being bigoted and cringy, such as his notorious meetup with Tana Mongeau. Ian says he'll still remember the Content Cop videos due to profiting from them and their popularity, but he's still hoping to move on from those videos and learn more about empathy.
  +
  +
Ian will unlist all of the Content Cop videos to not attract attention, though he's not forcing people to not like the videos. He will also donate to two charities, the 'National Alliance of Mental Health' and 'Trans Women of Color Collective' by using the revenue that would be made in the apology video. He then apologizes to Tana Mongeau and any minority groups that watch his videos and also refutes his statement "It's either all okay or none of it is okay".
  +
  +
While some people praised the video and congratulating Ian, others had criticized the video for his apology and his unlisting of the Content Cop videos. YouTubers such as h3h3productions and D'Angelo Wallace would compliment Ian for owning up for his offensive humor and moving on, but others such as Keemstar and Cr1tikal would criticize him since he has nothing to apologize for and that his intentions were good. Tana would respond to the apology by wanting Ian to come onto her podcast "CANCELLED", to explain her thoughts to him. The video currently has 146,000 likes to 83,000 dislikes.

Termination
On November 23, 2017, a hacker known as "Lizard Squad" hacked onto YouTube and terminated the iDubbbz channel, as well as multiple other big channels including DramaAlert, Papa Jake, Styxhexenhammer666, Team Coco (Conan O'Brien), and Repzion. People thought this was the end of YouTube until YouTube itself got all forcefully terminated channels back up in less than 24 hours.

Hey... that's pretty good!

―Ian

Ian Kane Jomha[1] ( Washburn;[2][3][4] born: July 27, 1990 (1990-07-27) [age 33]), better known online as iDubbbzTV (or simply iDubbbz), is an American YouTuber, comedian, reviewer, and boxer who is known for his satirical and dark humor, mainly from Content Cop, Bad Unboxing, and Kickstarter Crap videos. He's also known for featuring fellow YouTubers TVFilthyFrank, Maxmoefoe, HowToBasic, and anything4views.

History

He has collaborated with multiple large content creators including Jacksfilms, H3h3Productions, Boyinaband, PewDiePie, Vsauce, Ricky Berwick, Philip DeFranco, and Gus Johnson.

Content Cop

Main article: Content Cop

Arguably, iDubbbz's most successful series, Content Cop is aimed toward creators of various topics in which their content is highly questionable or poorly executed. The series had brought in over 250 million views combined for him.

Content Cop episodes begin with a sketch of iDubbbz wearing a cop costume as he pursues a suspect while the song Otis McMusic by Otis McDonald plays, eventually breaking down into a scuffle between the two. Then, the video cuts to iDubbbz sitting down in his studio before he begins talking about the channel or channels in question, with no mention being made of the opening fight - even if the sketch ends with the Content Cop apparently being killed or, in one case, the suspect stealing his uniform and running away.

While there are a lot of requests in the comments section for Content Cop videos for him to feature certain YouTubers, iDubbbz generally ignores these requests. As of May 18, 2023, iDubbbz has unlisted all of his Content Cop videos due to wanting to move on from his past.

This is a list of Content Cop episodes:

 1. Busting JINX RELOAD
 2. Amateur Food Reviewers
 3. Toy Review Channels: Giant Surprise Egg
 4. Fine Bros & the Revenue Machine
 5. Keemstar
 6. Toy Review #2 (Giant Gummy Bottle)
 7. HowtoPRANKitup
 8. LeafyIsHere (deleted for "Harassment")
 9. Tech Destruction Channels
 10. Tana Mongeau
 11. RiceGum/Jake Paul (deleted from a copyright claim by Hazoe 1Time)

Content Cop diss track

On October 3, 2017, iDubbbzTV made a diss track titled "Asian Jake Paul" about the YouTuber RiceGum.[5] In the diss track, he featured Boyinaband, he was also helped by Anisaj, H3h3Productions, Jacksfilms, Internet Comment Etiquette with Erik, Ali the Cabbage, PewDiePie, Sive, and HowToBasic.

In 2018, IDubbbzTV called out RiceGum in a video entitled Content Cop - Jake Paul. RiceGum would respond by challenge IDubbbz to a boxing match.[9][10] In a video uploaded in October 2021 by IDubbbz, it was revealed that RiceGum had backed out of his desire to fight him and he was actively searching for new creators to join his planned event.[11] This would later evolve into the Creator Clash event.

In May 2022, IDubbbz made his amateur boxing debut against Russian-American YouTuber Doctor Mike as the headline fight in the Creator Clash boxing event. IDubbbz was defeated by Doctor Mike via an unanimous decision.[12]

Personal life

Ian has relatively short brown hair and wears glasses. He is 6'2" tall.

Ian is married to Anisa Jomha, with whom he lives with.[13]

There has been an ongoing dispute about Ian's last name, with some saying his last name is Kovic and others saying it is Carter. In a now-deleted Let's Play video of Overgrowth on his main channel, Ian's brother, Kevin, can be heard in the background calling him Kovic. Some believe he uses Carter as an alias for privacy reasons, although when appearing on Philip DeFranco's channel in the video "YouTuber iDubbbzTV Drunkenly Kills, Marries, and F*CKS!", he is credited as Ian Carter.

Ian has stated on Twitter that he's of English, Polish, German, Czech, Spanish, Native American and Italian descent.[citation needed]Anisa has stated that Ian told her that he is mostly of British descent.[14]

He attended Kaplan University and made a comedic tweet about it in 2012.[15]

Ian's father is apparently a plumber, as stated by Max from one of his Los Angeles vlogs.[citation needed]

Controversy

Tana Mongeau drama

Tana tweet

Controversial Tweet on December 10, 2016.

On December 10, 2016, YouTuber Tana Mongeau tweeted on Twitter at iDubbbz, saying he should kill himself because he uses "the N-word" and the word "retard" frequently. Tana later deleted the tweet because one of her fans had recently died of suicide then.

In March 2020, Ian's girlfriend Anisa Jomha opened an account on the site OnlyFans, a paid service to view uncensored images and 18+ content posted from its creators and have it monetized. This resulted in significant attacks on Ian's minute response and silence over his girlfriend opening this account with many calling Ian a "simp" or in some cases a "Content Cuck" due to Ian's silence on this matter. Anisa was already not well liked by iDubbbz's fans due to her controversial actions in the past. Many also condemned Ian for being a hypocrite due to Ian criticizing "booby" streamers and female streamers/content creators who used their body for likes/views on YouTube and Twitch yet Ian not applying the double standard to his girlfriend's behavior online.[16][17]

Ian’s response

On March 28, 2020, Ian posted a response video to the drama with him and his girlfriend’s OnlyFans.[18] He starts out saying that there are a group of people that make memes out of the drama for fun and laughs and then there are a group of people that take the drama to another level, insulting him and harassing him due to his girlfriend’s decision of opening an OnlyFans account. Ian then talks about how his fans suddenly turn against him because of the drama and tells them that he is not their dad and if they don’t look up to him anymore, he thinks that’s fine. Ian then goes on to show some examples of fans that turn against him.

After, Ian then goes on to address people calling him a hypocrite and tells them that his opinions have been consistent throughout his YouTube career, even showing clips of him talking about sex work. Ian then goes on to say that he thinks his response video is the “most intelligent thing [he’s] ever done” because of him showing “this side of him.” And to conclude, Ian addresses a person that criticize him about the OnlyFans drama through a video.[19]

YouTubers respond

This is the case for other YouTubers who say the drama was unnecessary.[20][21]

LeafyIsHere’s response

Sam Hyde

FroggyFresh

Tyler's video about Anisa

On 24 January, 2023, Ian scheduled Tyler "FroggyFresh" Cassidy to fight Chris Ray Gun on Creator Clash 2.[22] On March 23, Fresh claimed that he would subscribe to Anisa Jomha's OnlyFans if he lost.[23]

On 26 March, Ian announced through the Creator Clash Twitter page that Fresh will no longer be fighting due to "recent behavior".[24] Public perception was that it was due to the joke about Anisa, or his friendship with Sam Hyde. Many creators including Keemstar, JiDion and Penguinz0 showing their support to Tyler.[25][26][27] KSI's manager Mams Taylor, offered Tyler a deal to box on Misfits Boxing instead.[28][29]

On March 29, Creator Clash tweeted "unfortunately, there were several violations made by Froggy Fresh during his tenure with Creator Clash this year." and claimed that they attempted to address the problems personally with Froggy Fresh, but were unsuccessful, resulting in them dropping him from the event.[30]

I asked that he could text or email me as I was busy training with Sam. He never texted or emailed."[31][32][33]

Others also thought the joke wasn't offensive since several men were subscribed to her OnlyFans anyway.[34]

Ian also attempted to sue Tyler for speaking out against his banning.[35] SomeOrdinaryGamers offered to pay for Tyler's legal fees, stating "Threatening litigation like this kinda worries me, but I hate it when smaller creators have to face any legal crap, it ruins lives. I’m down to cover it all, no need for GoFundMe’s. I just want this to be resolved, I want a successful event at the end of the day."[36][37]

Content Cop apology

Ian will unlist all of the Content Cop videos to not attract attention, though he's not forcing people to not like the videos. He will also donate to two charities, the 'National Alliance of Mental Health' and 'Trans Women of Color Collective' by using the revenue that would be made in the apology video. He then apologizes to Tana Mongeau and any minority groups that watch his videos and also refutes his statement "It's either all okay or none of it is okay".[38]

While some people praised the video and congratulating Ian, others had criticized the video for his apology and his unlisting of the Content Cop videos. YouTubers such as h3h3productions and D'Angelo Wallace would compliment Ian for owning up for his offensive humor and moving on, but others such as Keemstar and Cr1tikal would criticize him since he has nothing to apologize for and that his intentions were good.[39] Tana would respond to the apology by wanting Ian to come onto her podcast "CANCELLED", to explain her thoughts to him.[40] The video currently has 146,000 likes to 83,000 dislikes.
