Let there be Toons!

―JC's DeviantArt description

J.C. Thornton (born: October 8, 1996 (1996-10-08) [age 27]),[1] better known online as JCThornton (also formerly known as JT90INTHEHOUSE and Regulus Black during his Freak Fortress 2 days), is an American YouTuber, animator, artist, and occasional commentator known for his 3D model artwork depicting famous cartoon characters like Looney Tunes, and various video game characters. He is also known for making videos of animation remakes with his models using Source Filmmaker and Blender.

Videos[]

J.C. is mostly notable for his 3D animations and modeling artwork of cartoons and characters. Most of the animations he makes are remakes of famous parts of the cartoons (sometimes the full animation if it's a overall short length, such as the Conker's Etiquette Guide shorts and the SMBSS' live-action skit A Basement Divided) and notable cartoon scenes that became internet memes.

J.C.'s new content featuring his SFM and Blender animations with his 3D model work has garnered notoriety and a following, with other popular YouTube animators using his 3D models for their animations and entertainment situations. His 3D animations consistently remained popular, gaining an average 10k views if not more in each animation video he posts.

He has a commentary series titled "JCTalks," where he occasionally makes them for commentaries and video essays of a certain subject.

History[]

J.C. first started on YouTube making music videos of game soundtracks. He officially made his first animation with Team Fortress 2 characters using Garry's Mod titled DoomSpy's First Attack, marking the beginning of his "Freak Fortress" era of videos. He later rose to notoriety for creating TF2 "freaks" Piss Cakehole and Demo Samedi, spawning a series of Garry's Mod videos featuring them and various other freaks he's created. The span of Freak Fortress videos lasted until around 2015 when J.C. went on a hiatus from YouTube to pursue a career in animation and 3d art.

After progressing in 3D art until around 2019, J.C. uploaded his first video animation using Source Filmmaker with his 3D models titled Looney Tunes - Bazooka Coyote, marking the first time he's uploaded an animation short since 2016. After almost a year has passed since J.C.s Looney Tunes animation, he uploaded another SFM animation, along with an animated short released shortly thereafter. J.C. announced his official return to YouTube with new content featuring his new style, 3D models, commentaries, and even more animations, but has discontinued the Freak Fortress span of videos because making them isn't fun for him anymore and wanted to pursue in something he's more passionate about, which is cartoons and animations. His new content involves animations done using Source Filmmaker and Blender using his 3D modeling work.

Despite the the cancellation of making anymore Freak Fortress videos, he uploaded his last video Last Saturday - Revenge of the Samedi, serving as a "farewell" video for making Freak Fortress videos.

His span of making his new content has been going on since 2020 and is ongoing.

Artwork[]

J.C.'s artwork consists 3D models and renders of characters from popular cartoons and video games, such as Looney Tunes, Animaniacs, Conker's Bad Fur Day, etc. Examples of his 3D animations and 3D renders can be viewed in his Portfolio on his website, Twitter, and his DeviantArt account.

J.C. also shares his 3D model work publicly for free, only for entertainment use on his website and Patreon.

Quotes[]

  • "Let there be Toons!"
  • If you think you're too young or old to become a cartoonist, animator, or voice actor, you're lying to yourself. Success doesn't happen by accident, but it's never too late to achieve working at your dream job and fellow heroes just because you didn't reach fame at a certain age!
