Destin Choice Route (born: October 31, 1990), better known professionally as JID or J.I.D, is an American musician known for his music and for being a member of Zoink Gang, consisting of Buddy, Guapdad 4000, and Smino. He is currently residing in Atlanta, Georgia, United States.
Early life[]
Route was born on October 31, 1990, in Atlanta, Georgia. He grew up listening to Sly and the Family Stone and Earth, Wind & Fire.
Career[]
Route released his first mixtape, Cakewalk, in 2010, releasing a second Cakewalk mixtape in 2011, and his third mixtape, Route of All Evil, in 2012. In 2017, Route released his full-length album, The Never Story, which featured numerous guest features from artists and friends of Route. In 2021, Route announced his third studio album's title, which was The Forever Story. Later that year, he collaborated with Imagine Dragons on the song, Enemy, becoming his highest charting song.

Route created his channel on August 23, 2018, but uploaded his first video on December 22, 2016. He uploads music videos and audio to his channel.

- He adopted his name, JID, from his grandmother's nickname for him, based on his jittery behavior he had as a kid.
