Raines was assigned female at birth. Pre-transition, he met his best friend, Shaaba Lotun at school. After he started his transition they began dating, despite the protests of Shaaba's family. They plan to adopt. He went through top surgery at the age of 18 and bottom surgery at the age of 23.
On September 17, 2017, Raines and Lotun got engaged. Their wedding was originally scheduled for September 20, 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the wedding has now been rescheduled to September 2021.
As a transgender man he makes videos on LGBT culture and lifestyle, as well as dealing with transphobia. Sometimes his fiancée Shaaba appears in his videos. He often reads/reacts to Reddit subs such as r/AreTheStraightsOkay, r/PointlesslyGendered and r/GenderCritical (until its deletion). He gives advice to trans youth such as how to deal with periods as a trans man, what it's like to be trans, and more.
He also partakes in discourse at times, but likes to debate with trans exclusionary radical feminists (TERFs). In particular, he is critical of JK Rowling and makes responses to her tweets and essays about being transgender. He also criticized the BBC for giving her an award.
