―JiDion

Jidon Armani Adams[1] (born: December 12 or 18, 2000 [age 23]), better known online as JiDion or GiDeon, is an American YouTuber known for his vlogs and prank videos shifted from this style in favor of Christian-based content in September 2023.[2]

Content

JiDion's content mainly consists of comedic vlogs and prank videos, featuring him going to public places and messing with the people there. There is a re-occuring gag within JiDion's channels, such as with him being kicked out of a Shoe-Palace by the manager Tyrone. The drama began when JiDion brought in an empty Shoe-Palace box. Tyrone knocked it out of his hands, and then spotted the cameraman. Tyrone kicked JiDion out from the shop and made an insulting remark about his mother, to which JiDion responded in "The Manager Banned Me, So I Made A Diss Track".[3] JiDion then wrote a song about the event titled F**k Tyrone.[4] However, JiDion eventually forgave Tyrone for a short period of time before Tyrone made another remark about his mother. JiDion had a series with Niko Omilana to determine whom is the best prankster. This series is known as "The Biggest Menace".[5]

History

JiDion created his main YouTube channel on July 1, 2018. He began uploading in two months later in September, though his earlier videos have since been removed. His earliest public video was uploaded on February 11, 2019, although his channel did not gain much traction at first. His channel started to grow during Spring 2019, with some videos he uploaded gaining millions of views, and he reached 100,000 subscribers in September 2019. Throughout late-2020 and 2021, his channel would continue to grow and gain popularity. JiDion reached 1 million subscribers in August 2021. On November 29, 2023 he uploaded a video explaining why he decided to delete all his videos. The video states that he had became a Christian and doesn't believe God would approve of his old content. He then made a new channel where he posts Christian and faith based content.

From April to July 2024, JiDion began unprivating some videos on his main channel.[6] On July 13, 2024, he uploaded his first video on the JiDion channel after almost 8 months of inactivity. Less than a month later, on August 8, 2024, he began his series, EDP Watch.[7]

Controversy

Sneaking Into TwitchCon/Feud with TommyInnit

During TwitchCon Amsterdam of 2022, JiDion decided to troll in the event by sneaking into it and ran over to TommyInnit. After he trolled and harassed Tommy, he was kicked out of TwitchCon and was also banned from it, presumably due to his ban on Twitch and for "harassing" Tommy and his fans.[8] A lot of Tommy's fans were scared and said that JiDion had harassed them and made fun of them in Tommy's Meet and Greet line.[9]

On July 19, 2022, Tommy addressed in a stream what had happened at the time, and said that Twitch will make sure that there is more security at TwitchCon San Diego. He has also said that he is getting in contact with JiDion to delete the video he made about the event due to him recording without Tommy's consent.[10] A few days later, JiDion responded to Tommy on a YouTube livestream, stating that he didn't harass him whatsoever, as well as addressing that the reason he couldn't check one one of Tommy's direct messages on Twitter is that he was locked out of his account for a couple of days. He also said on his stream that he would not delete the footage, as he wanted it to speak for itself.[11]

After JiDion's video was released, it was proven that he did not harass either Tommy or his fans. This caused backlash against Tommy and most users on Twitter have told Tommy that he should apologize to JiDion for blowing the situation out of proportion. On August 10, 2022, Tommy had said on his stream that they squashed their beef with each other and have talked on the phone, with Tommy saying that he had read the replies on his tweets and misunderstood JiDion.[12]
