Youssef Hussein (Arabic: يوسف حسين; born: December 16, 1988[1]), better known for his talk show name Joe Show (formerly Joe Tube), is an Egyptian[citation needed] comedian, (ex-)YouTube content maker, and political satirist who hosts his sarcastic comic political show that talks about Arab political concerns, he also lives in Qatar where he left Egypt due to the events brought on by the 2013 coup.[2] After presenting the "Joe Tube" program on YouTube, and later the "Joe Show" program on Al Araby TV Network, he rose to popularity. The channel was owned by Al Araby TV Network.[citation needed]
Early life[]
On December 16, 1988, he was born in the Egyptian capital Cairo to a family from Kafr Awad Al-Sunita, a village located in the Dakahlia Governorate.[3] Where his father was a merchant, he received his education in Qatar.[4]
YouTuber[]
He became popular after a YouTube video of him discussing former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi. As a result, in 2013, He began presenting "Joe Tube", a satirical political show with the character of Joe on the YouTube channel directed by Ahmed Al-Zariri.[2]
Comedian (Ex-YouTuber)[]
Youssef Hussein switched to present his show on behalf of Joe Show on Al Araby Television Network which broadcasts in London from his YouTube show in 2016. It is a weekly show that discusses politics and the economy with a focus on Egypt and the other Arab nations.[5]
Personal life[]
Hussein revealed that he had tested positive for COVID-19 on December 6, 2020.[5]
Revocation of nationality[]
His citizenship was requested to be revoked by the Egyptian Ministry of the Interior urged by an Egyptian lawyer in October 2019, due to the airing of his show.[5]
