Jonah Singer (born: July 18, 1998 (1998-07-18)), better known online as Jojo's ASMR (formerly Sinn0h) is an Australian ASMR YouTuber, gamer, musician, and commentator. He's known for his trigger videos which include relaxation videos, role-plays, Minecraft let's plays, and card magic videos. He used to make commentary videos on controversial YouTubers or cringe culture.

History

As a child, Jojo would steal his father's Panasonic camera and would film things with his friends, sparking his interest in film making. He discovered YouTube in 2006 watching gameplay videos and The Cute Mario Bros. He created his first channel on April 24, 2010 called "luigipichu4928", but didn't upload any videos to this channel due to a lack of experience with video editing. On April 17, 2011, he and his friend, Ronan created the channel "themagicweenies" where he filmed himself preforming card magic videos.

Jojo then created a YouTube channel in 2012 called "xSinn0hx" which originally consisted of daily uploads of let's plays of Minecraft on MCPVP servers with his friends and other YouTubers. Afterwards, he created another channel named Sinn0h, with most of his content becoming commentary videos on YouTubers such as Onision. He got into ASMR in eighth grade when he started watching Gentle Whispering ASMR and Heather Feather ASMR. He then decided to create an ASMR channel in 2015, but didn't start making videos until December 2016. Jojo was initially nervous at first, but he got used to creating ASMR videos.

Content

Most of his content consists of relaxation and role-plays videos. His common role-plays include the worst reviewed jobs series and his magic card videos. He also plays Minecraft in survival worlds and also creates his own worlds which is more tingle inducing. Jojo also makes a series of videos where he impersonates popular ASMR YouTubers, sometimes making a joke out of it. Jojo started a trend on his channel where he'll update a video's title depending on the views, comments, like/dislikes, etc. He started this on April 11, 2021 with the video "This ASMR Video Has 719,249 views".

Ever since uploading ASMR videos, Jojo has become hugely popular in the ASMR community and has collaborated with other ASMR YouTubers, such as Asmr zeitgeist and Gibi ASMR. He has also created another channel simply named Jojo, where he commentates on controversial YouTubers and other subjects. Both channels are known for their random sense of humor.

Controversies

Sinn0h

Around 2016, he was heavily criticized for creating sockpuppet accounts and liking his own comments and videos. He has also encouraged his fans on his YouTube and Twitter to spam commentary YouTubers accounts such as Pyrocynical, LeafyIsHere, and Keemstar. He's been bashed for not taking criticism, mainly blocking critics and making fun of them on Twitter. Jojo's content has also been bashed for being too similar to Leafy's. When his ASMR channel was discovered, some called him out for hypocrisy since he previously created a video ranting on eating ASMR videos.

On January 11, 2017, he posted a TwitLonger addressing the drama around ASMR, avoiding criticism, and drama with other YouTubers. However, most people weren't willing to forgive him as most thought he was making up excuses. He would eventually privatized all of his videos and create his ASMR channel. Most people were willing to forgive him as he has become more mature over the years. Jojo would later say he acted very toxic and immature in 2016, saying he deserved the criticism.

N-Word drama

In September of 2021, a YouTuber posted a four second clip of Jojo saying the N-word. This clip was originally made back in 2017, when he was 18-19 at the time, on his Sinn0h Twitter account. While some fans defended Jojo, some fans wanted him cancelled over his racism.

On October 4, Jojo made a YouTube video about his response surrounding the drama. He says that he wasn't racist since he was only quoting PewDiePie, who was in drama for saying the N-word while streaming. While Jojo did say that him saying the N-word wasn't justified, he thinks the clip shouldn't be taken out of context and people shouldn't be upset since he said this years ago. He further talks about the dangers of cancel culture and apologizes to his fans if he offended anybody. His apology has been perceived as insincere by some, but the majority of his audience supported Jojo.
