Joshua Krage Weissman (born: January 9, 1996), is an American chef, cookbook author, and food blogger residing in Austin, Texas, United States. He runs his own YouTube Channel which bears his name. His most viewed YouTube video to date is "Making The Popeyes Chicken Sandwich At Home, But Better".
History[]
Joshua started cooking with his mother at 3 years of age. Throughout his childhood he was into cooking and food which thus caused him to grow up overweight. He was often bullied as a kid because of this. When he was a teenager he decided that he had enough of being unhealthy and completely switched his diet. At age 16 he had lost over 100 pounds.
In 2012, at age 16, he started his own food blog called Slim Palate. He would post about cooking and diet-friendly dishes. In 2014 he would release his first cookbook The Slim Palate Paleo Cookbook which detailed the recipes he made during his diet.
At age 18 he would move to Austin, Texas, to pursue the fine-dining scene. He was hired at Uchiko where he would work as a lead cook for a couple years. In 2019 he would leave his job to pursue YouTube full time.

Joshua produces cooking videos based on simple and affordable recipes that are healthy and tasty. He also has three series, But Better, But Cheaper and But Faster. But Better is about him creating better versions of fast or junk food items and But Cheaper is about him making a full meal on a tight budget. In 2022, he started the series But Faster, where he will attempt to cook a meal faster than a takeout restaurant.
He also used to run a series called Fermentation Friday where he would do fermented recipes.
Joshua is also known for frequently uttering out the word "B-roll" towards the end of his videos, just before the outro. This refers to supplemental footage which sets it apart from the main footage, as seen by the stylistic sequence which follows moments later.
He does not say this during a But Faster video though, and therefore, no sequence of extra footage is shown.
