Simon (born: December 29, 1991 (1991-12-29)), better known online as Kaif, or Caef, is a Welsh gaming YouTuber and Twitch streamer. He is the leader of the Salt Raiders, and is known for playing a variety games such as SCP: Secret Laboratory He previously played World of Warcraft, but he has stopped doing so, which disbanded the guild in the game, and Among Us. He has also played several other games including Intruder, First Class Trouble, Final Fantasy XIV, Chivalry 2, Devour, Agrou, Gang Beasts, For Honour, Eville, Dead by Daylight, Enemy on Board, Fall Guys, Enemy on Board, Deceit, Push the Button, Minecraft, New World and many more. His given name is Simon, but he is now referred to as Kaif, as he has a friend who is also named Simon. Contrary to popular belief, he and SR Ebbz are a couple, and not siblings. He has three other accounts, with the channel Kaiffu(Formerly Kaif VOD) as a streaming channel (formerly VOD channel), Kaiffy which uploads full fledged videos for what he describes as content he thinks his viewers won’t like/don’t fit his main channel, and Kaif Shorts which posts clips from livestreams. Videos of his Twitch Clips of the Month were also originally uploaded to the channel Kaiffu. However, he has been uploading them onto his main channel since October of 2021. He originally owned the channel with his friend Tom, but after Tom left he gained full ownership of both the channel and the clan. All of the videos featuring Tom have since been removed.

Personal life

Kaif was born on December 29th, 1991 in Sully Hospital in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales as Simon. When he was 5, he fell off his bunk bed and landed on his head. Years later, his brother accidentally hit him on the head with a swing. He washed the blood out of his hair, an action Kaif previously thought of as heroic, but now realises that he didn't want to get into trouble.

In primary school, he and his schoolmates often played a game known as skully, where one person would tightly hug another person, and the other person would breathe in and out rapidly until they passed out. When Kaif and his friends did it on a hill, after he passed out, they pushed him off the hill and he hit his head on a rock. He met his friend Harley (Harleyac) in primary school. He did very well for his SATS. In comprehensive school, he was often mocked for not being able to speak properly while nervous. He first met his friend Tom sometime during Year 8 and 9. He chose to do art classes and made several friends, two of whom started to refer to him as Caef, which he later changed to Kaif for his channel, as he feared people would not be able to pronounce it easily.

He started his channel with Tom in 2011, uploading videos of games such as World of Warcraft. He met his friend Josh (Wadlet) sometime around this. His dad left around the time of his exams in year 11. After this, he chose to stay back in his school instead of taking his A Levels in college.

In university, he did a Bachelor's of Science honours in sound technology with a module on video editing. He stared learning how to draw properly, and started drawing thumbnails for the channel. After university, while playing World of Warcraft: Legion, Josh made fun of Tom, after which he finally snapped, as he did not like the banter of their group, transferring leadership to Kaif. He then uploaded his first viral video on the 15th of November, Life as a Raid Leader. On New Year's Eve, he made a resolution to continue with YouTube, or forget about it all together.

As his channel grew, several other people started to join the group. However, several people eventually left, such as his friend Warren, who left to do "professional CS:GO", his friend Glen (NoBeans)'s brother Luke, Tuesday, who left to focus on schoolwork, and Mike (SR_Ojii). He stopped playing World of Warcraft in 2019, and changed the name of the clan from Slave Raiders to Salt Raiders. He also first played Among Us in 2019, before the game started to thrive. In December of 2020 the Salt Raiders announced that they were in the process of finding an office. The office was officially opened on June 4th 2022, several members of the group have their own rooms, including Kaif.

Kaif plays most games with the SR clan, as well as members of the SR Community. He plays a large variety of games, many of them being social deception games such as Among Us, Enemy on Board, Agrou, Eville, Deceit, Push the Button, First Class Trouble and several others. He also plays games such as Witch It!, Final Fantasy XIV, Devour, Dead by Daylight, Intruder, Golf It, Golf With Your Friends, Chivalry 2, Gang Beasts, Red Dead Redemption, Fall Guys and many more. He also frequently plays SCP: Secret Laboratory.

• His favourite animal is the panda.
  • However, he has confirmed that he is not a furry.
• The channel was originally supposed to be named Caif, but he changed it to Kaif after discovering certain fonts made it look like the word Calf.
• In his Iceland vlog, Ebbz mentioned her brother. Many people thought she was referring to Kaif, but he clarified that they were a couple, not siblings, and that her brother was the one holding the camera.
• He owns two dogs, a 4-year old pomsky named Tichus, and a 3-year old border collie named Remi.
• He is often compared to SovietWomble from the clan ZF.
• He previously owned three other dogs, Molly, Sally and Scruffy.
