Wayne (born: July 24, 1987), better known online as Kang Gaming or simply Kang, is an American YouTuber and streamer who creates a variety of gaming content, currently specializing in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. His fanbase is collectively known as The Kangdom.
History[]
Although Kang created his account in 2006, he uploaded his first video 9 years later on June 1, 2015, where he played the single-player campaign of Splatoon. However, he regards June 18 as the official launch date of his channel, when he began a playthrough of Fallout: New Vegas. Throughout 2016 and 2017, he uploaded his hours-long Twitch streams to his channel, many of which were of horror games, with occasional shorter videos sprinkled in (including a couple of vlogs). He had reached almost 100k subscribers by the end of 2017, but unfortunately, Kang's personal life became stressful by this point, causing him to take a lengthy hiatus from YouTube that lasted more than 2 years (he uploaded no videos in 2018 and only two in 2019), though he continued to stream on Twitch. Consequently, his subscriber count slowly dwindled.
It wasn't until the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons that his YouTube career was resurrected. He bought a second Nintendo Switch so he could get another island (he was streaming his first island on Twitch) and soon began recording Villager Hunts - this is an activity in New Horizons in which players travel to dozens of mystery islands in search of their desired villagers. These videos proved to be very popular, and were instrumental in reviving Kang's career and gaining him thousands more subscribers in the space of a few months. Since then, the vast majority of his content has been based around New Horizons, though he will play any game that he takes an interest in.
While Kang plays a mixture of wholesome games and more mature and gritty games, he has a family-friendly attitude and attempts to make his content suitable for everyone.

- Kang was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He still lives in Florida with his family.
- He was introduced to video games through his mother, who worked at a thrift store and bought him a NES console. His parents had an abusive relationship, and he lost his mother when he was five years old as she was murdered by his father. Kang has since forgiven him and moved on.[1]
- Kang proposed to his wife Alyssa on August 18, 2019, via a pre-recorded video on a DLive stream.[2] They were due to get married on May 17, 2020, but the event was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, so instead they held a virtual wedding ceremony in Animal Crossing.[3]
- He has a son, and is expecting another child in February 2021; he announced Alyssa's pregnancy via an Animal Crossing roleplay.[4]
- On July 3, 2020, Kang shaved his head after reaching 500 subs on his Twitch channel.
- On August 3, 2020, Kang was featured in a Polygon article showing off his King Tut musical chairs minigame.[5]
- Kang's favorite Animal Crossing villager is Diana, and his favorite KK Slider song is Steep Hill.
