Kevin created his channel on July 27, 2006. He is most known for his vlog videos and music videos. One of the signature things he did in his videos was dancing in the beginning to a song. On July 24, 2008, Kevjumba made a second YouTube channel called JumbaFund, where the money he earns from the channel he gives to charity. Kevjumba was in a group called YTF ("Yesterday is in the past, Today you have a choice, Forever is up to you.") All of the members of YTF have a YouTube account (Ryan Higa, Victor Kim, D-trix, Andrew Garcia, Jr Aquino and Chester See).
Kevin finally resurfaced on the internet three years later on his blog called Monk.college. On April 21, 2016, Kevin revealed why he left YouTube. He said that he wanted to leave so he can meditate and go to college. He created a blog to connect him back to the life he left out. After leaving YouTube, he decided to do his own investigation on man’s search for meaning. In 2016, he made all his videos private, having only videos on the JumbaFund channel.
As of May 2016, his videos have been unprivated.
In 2017, he began making a comeback on his channel, although it is unknown how long it will last or where he will head with his videos.
Kevin was born in Houston, Texas and attended Clements High School. He then went to UC Davis (University Of California), but when he got asked to go on the Amazing Race with his dad he took a break.
In 2015, he made a comment on Instagram stating he had been sick and later deleted the comment.
In 2016, a photo emerged, allegedly of him, with a fan. Reaction to the photo was mixed. He had a conversation with the person about life.
He began a blog addressing concerns and curiosities about his life. The blog seems to be genuine, as it is featured on his channel, on which he uploaded. As of May 2016, he has ceased blogging due to an undisclosed injury.
He is currently living in Culver City, California.
JumbaFund is a channel that KevJumba created to act as a second channel, except all money that the channel makes from his partnership with YouTube will go directly to a charity of his choosing. He made enough money to help build a secondary school in Kenya and it was named Jumba Lenana Academy. He announced in a video on his JumbaFund channel that all revenue in 2012 will be donated to the construction of the school. It is undetermined how much was made and what is being used for money in 2015 as of June 6, 2013. It is now close to impossible to know any more information due to Kevin not being connected to anything on the Internet as of late.
The Amazing Race 17
In May and June of 2010, he participated with his father in filming for the 17th season of The Amazing Race, an American reality television game show. Upon this announcement, it was also the first time his dad's name, Michael, was revealed, which was kept anonymous since his debut. Kevin officially announced his participation on Facebook on September 1, and on YouTube a week later. The season premiered on September 26, 2010. Michael and Kevin's best placement was a third-place finish in Leg 2 and Leg 6. Their worst placement was a last place finish (9th) in Leg 3, a non-elimination leg. They ended up in seventh place and were eliminated in Leg 7 after being issued two 30-minute penalties for using a cab to travel between tasks on the leg when they were instructed to walk; another team had also issued a similar penalty and checked in after them, but only had one half-hour penalty, resulting in Kevin and Michael's elimination.
