Jordi Maxim van den Bussche[1] (born: June 1, 1995 (1995-06-01) [age 29]),[3] better known online as Kwebbelkop (also known as Kwellapaap), is a Dutch[2] English-speaking YouTuber known for his gaming and reaction videos.

Personal life[]

Jordi was born on June 1, 1995, in the Netherlands to Brigittela and Ben.[4][5][6] In Jordi's childhood, Brigittela and Ben got divorced.[7] Jordi's father Ben passed away in February 2017.[8]

YouTube career[]

2008–2013: Creation of Kwebbelkop[]

Jordi made his channel Kwebbelkop in 2008 and uploading his first video on May 3, 2011.[9] Around 2013, Jordi started doing YouTube Full-Time.[10]

2014–2019: Robust[]

In 2014, Cody, and Aquib created a YouTube group called Robust.[11] Later on, Jelly joined the group, and Aquib left.[12] British YouTuber Josh (Slogo) met Jelly and Jordi at Gamescom 2014,[13] and would later join the group, then Cody left afterwards.[12] After Josh joined the trio, the trio became widely popular and even became members of PewDiePie's short-lived YouTube network, Revelmode.[14][15] In 2019, Kwebbelkop was eventually replaced by Crainer.[16][17] He mentioned in a later video that he left Robust due to mental health issues.[18]

2019–present: Solo career and post-Robust collaborations[]

Jordi filmed solo videos until he met Hassan in March 2020.[19][20] He and Hassan started to make gaming videos,[21][22][23] and then in July 2020, Jordi made an account for his friend Hassan named "Tiger".[24]

In 2021 Jordi and his team created the channel and V-Tuber character named Bloo, which is an AI-powered channel featuring gaming content.[25][26]

2024-present: Reuniting with Jelly[]

On September 8, 2024, five years after he left Robust, he reunited with Jelly, getting out of gaming retirement.[27] One week later, they reunited in person.[28]

Other endeavors[]

Aside from YouTube, Jordi co-invested in the Backbone controller accessory for iPhone,[29] as well as in cryptocurrency and NFTs.[30][31] He co-founded LaunchMyNFT, an NFT launchpad.[32] In 2023, he announced that he was developing a new video game titled Hellskate.[33] He is also developing AI content creation tools with his company, JVDBStudios.[34]

Pivot to AI[]

In December 2022, Jordi posted on his Twitter page that he wanted to clone himself in 2023 using AI.[35] After a couple of videos and many hate comments, in September 2023, he uploaded an apology video to his Youtube channel and Twitter page.[36] That video was also made using AI, but more realistic, and hinted at the end of Kwebbelkop AI before mentioning he was in the process of creating a better "Kwebbelkop 2.0 model" replacement.[25][37][38][39]
