LambHoot (born: September or October 1994 [age 29]) is a Canadian gaming YouTuber. He is best known for his reviews of various SpongeBob SquarePants video games.

About[]

LambHoot, whose real name is Denis Kefallinos, currently lives in Montréal, Québec, Canada. In the video "Why I haven't played Hades" he states that he was "just over a year old" in October 1995, making him most likely born in September or October 1994. He most likely works in the software engineering field, as it is mentioned on his YouTube and Patreon page. He also has a girlfriend, who was featured in the April, 2020 video 'How I Introduced my Girlfriend to Gaming'. Not much else is known about his personal life.

History[]

LambHoot's channel originally consisted of comedy videos and real-life re-enactments of cutscenes from popular video games of the time. On May 15, 2014, LambHoot changed the format of his channel to what it is today by uploading his first review/analysis video, on the 2002 SpongeBob SquarePants video game Revenge of The Flying Dutchman. The video went on to become the 5th most viewed video on the channel, with over 92,000 views as of March 2024. More viral SpongeBob videos followed, which are detailed below.

LambHoot's SpongeBob Videos[]

LambHoot's most popular video series began on May 15, 2014 when his analysis video for SpongeBob SquarePants: Revenge of The Flying Dutchman was uploaded. To date it is most popular series on the channel, garnering a combined total of over 505,000 views as of March 2024. The series consists of:

1. SpongeBob SquarePants: Revenge of The Flying Dutchman

  • Uploaded on May 15, 2014. Over 92,000 views as of March 2024.

2. SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle For Bikini Bottom

  • Uploaded on May 10, 2015, the channel's 6 year anniversary. Over 184,000 views as of March 2024. Is the most popular video in the series and the second most popular video on the channel behind The Resident Evil they keep Remaking...

3. SpongeBob Heropants

  • Uploaded on April 24, 2016. Over 119,000 views as of March 2024.

4. The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie Game

  • Uploaded on May 7, 2017. Over 95,000 views as of March 2024. This was originally intended to be the end of the series, with LambHoot stating in the description "with that I put my SpongeBob days to rest. We look back and leap forward into whatever the future holds. Thank you for being a part of this 4 year journey, I hope you enjoyed it because I certainly didn’t lol. I played 1 good game and 3 bad to mediocre ones. Can’t say it was the best time, but you guys made it fun."

5. Sponge Review

  • Premiered on March 30, 2019. After countless requests from fans to review another SpongeBob game, LambHoot posted this comedy-filled video in response. The video is a review of an actual cleaning sponge, and was meant to send the message that there will be no more SpongeBob reviews. That held true until late-2020. The video was a huge disappointment in terms of views, gaining less than 5,000 as of September 2021.

6. SpongeBob BFBB Rehydrated & TLOU2

  • Despite having ended the series and repeatedly denying to do anymore reviews, a new SpongeBob review was uploaded unexpectedly on September 4, 2020. The 2003 release SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle For Bikini Bottom had received a remaster/re-release in June 2020, and LambHoot decided to review it, although a second review of The Last of Us II was inserted into the same video. The video vastly under-performed view-wise, gaining around 10,000 as of March 2024. This was most likely caused by the fact that there was over a 3 year gap between reviews and because there was no announcement prior to the video being released. Chances are there will be no more new installments in the series until a major new game is released in the SpongeBob genre.
