Latto was born on December 22, 1998, in Columbus, Ohio, United States, to parents Misti Pitts and Shayne Stephens. She later moved to Clayton County, Georgia, where she attended Lovejoy High School. Her mother is white, and her father is African-American, and she began using her "light-skinned" traits and the phrase "mulatto" as her alias.
Career[]
Latto began her rapping career at the age of 10, under the name "Miss Mulatto". She was a contestant in reality TV show The Rap Game, where she won the show. She was offered a recording contract from So So Def Recordings, but had to reject the offer since she wanted to have enough money to be an independent artist.
On January 11, 2019, Latto released her debut single Bitch from da Souf through RCA Records for her debut studio album Queen of Da Souf (2020). Her biggest hit is Big Energy, released on September 24, 2021, for her album 777. Big Energy hit number three on the Billboard Hot 100.
