James Simons[1] (born: April 5, 1985 (1985-16-05) [age 39]), better known online as Leon Lush, is an American YouTuber and commentator. He also produces comedy and musical videos on YouTube.

Personal life[]

Leon Lush was born in Massachusetts, United States in April 1985. A comedian and musician side by side, some of the most viewed videos on his channel are his covers of notable songs where he is seen playing either acoustic or electric guitar. Not much is known about his personal life.

YouTube career[]

Lush first joined YouTube in 2006 under the username "simonz350". His first video on the channel was "His first video was a cover of Wyclef Jean and Akon's Sweetest Girl". This video is still publicly available on the channel. The first of his videos are simple covers of him playing his accoustic and electric guitar. The first non-music video on the channel was uploaded on 26 June, 2015 named "HOW TO get a six pack of abs FAST!: Lispy Glasses #1", which as the name suggests, is a tutorial video. The videos gradually transformed into reaction videos after the first reaction video on the channel named "WHITE GUY RAPS ABOUT NOTHING AND MAKES YOUR BRAIN CRY!" was uploaded on 27 September the same year. His reaction videos feature his side kick Nigel Cushington, a baby monkey doll which taunts and mocks Leon as he entertains his fans, The OG Leon lush fans are known as “The Tomato Mafia” a nickname given by Leon as a result of fans always comparing him to a tomato when he would get so amped in a livestream that his face would go as red as a tomato.

i am sophie Situation[]

In 2020, Lush became an involuntary character in a then-ongoing alternative reality game (ARG) "i am sophie", when he commentated about some of their earliest content, where he compared their videos to Bobby Misner.[2] He further suspects the legitimacy of their act, not realizing the ARG aspect of it then. He further explained the context and the situation in a follow-up video where he addresses his uninvolvement to the ARG.
