Lorry Hill (born: October 4, 1977), is a Ukrainian-American YouTuber, blogger, model and former dental hygienist who posts videos about plastic surgery (including celebrity analysis, which are her most popular videos), beauty, as well as commentary regarding beauty standards and pressures.

Initially starting out in 2019 as a vlogging channel providing information and advice about plastic surgery (which she is open about having had), by early 2020 Hill began to make celebrity analysis videos about the alleged plastic surgeries and beauty secrets of celebrities, with an aim of showing viewers the hidden beauty standards of Hollywood’s entertainment industry and how “beauty [of Hollywood celebrities] is attainable”. Since then, her channel has rapidly grown to over 468,000 subscribers as of 2022, and makes videos focusing on countering the denial of plastic surgery by celebrities, and “lifting the veil of secrecy” (as well as stigma) surrounding plastic surgery. She also makes videos commenting on societal beauty standards and advocating for transparency surrounding celebrity beauty and the entertainment industry (having worked as a model and aspiring actress in Los Angeles, she aims to bring knowledge to her viewers regarding the industry’s practices). Hill also shares her experiences of plastic surgery to provide knowledge to her viewers about plastic surgery should they decide to get it.
Hill is well-known in the beauty and celebrity commentary communities on YouTube for the depth and accuracy of her celebrity analysis videos, as well as her emphasis on transparency with regards to the topics she addresses and her viewers.
Lorry additionally has another smaller channel named Lorry Beauty, where she has occasionally posted hair and make-up videos, though most of her beauty videos are on her main channel. Hill has also collaborated with surgeons and facial aestheticians in some of her celebrity analysis videos, and has also made appearances on news channels and talk shows regarding beauty standards.
Personal life[]
Born on October 4, 1977 to an Ashkenazi Jewish family in Kiev, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union (now Kyiv, Ukraine), Hill arrived in the U.S. when she was two years old. Hill has expressed pride in being Ukrainian, and made a video in March 2022 condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Hill has spoken about the difficulties her parents faced upon arrival in America - including their university degrees being non-transferable and being forced to start all over. She speaks Russian. Hill grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada and went to high school there, graduating in 1995. From a young age, Hill felt uncomfortable with her body, particularly her nose, which made her feel insecure. At the age of 21, having saved up a lot of money, Hill had a rhinoplasty. The rhinoplasty ended up not going well for her and it made her insecurities and lack of self-confidence much worse. Hill has spoken about the way she was poorly treated by other people after the procedure, including their rudeness about her nose, which made her fall into a downward spiral of more procedures. As a working model and actress in Los Angeles, she also faced difficulties with her career because of her nose. Eventually, with the help of Dr. Bahman Guyuron, she was able to achieve her “dream nose” and “feel normal again”. On the other hand, Hill has also had procedures that have made her feel much happier in her own skin, such as a facelift, blepharoplasty and lip lift and has acknowledged both the pros and cons of plastic surgery.
Hill at age 17
While being an actress and model, Hill also trained in another career as a dental hygienist, studying at the University of Southern Nevada from 1996 to 2001 and beginning work in the dental hygienist field. She worked at hospitals in the Las Vegas area. She met her husband while working in the field and they married in 2014. They have one son.
