Lucas (born: October 23, 2004), better known online as lucaas, is a Swedish YouTuber creating content around aviation and gaming. He has been a content creator for a few years now but gained a lot of popularity in 2019. He is known for his weekly series Weekly Dose of Aviation but also his flight simulator videos. He now uploads videos on a variety of games, many of them related to aviation.
lucaas uploaded his first video in August 2016, back then known as GTAPlanes. He revealed his face in his 'Face Reveal' video as a celebration for reaching one million subscribers.
He started gaining a lot of subscribers in May 2019 when he uploaded X-Plane 11 videos. His most viewed video is 'A380 Runway Overrun Emergency Landing - X-Plane 11'.
History[]
Lucas uploaded his first video on August 26th, 2016, and started out by doing airplane videos in GTA 5. He used Rockstar Editor, a video creating tool built in the game, to create short cinematic clips of different airplane scenarios. This varied between regular flights and emergency situations. He had not revealed his voice yet.
On March 8th, 2019, he uploaded his first X-Plane 11 video which later turned out to be the game that would change the direction of his channel. The videos quickly gained popularity and X-Plane 11 became the new regular game on his channel. He was creating short videos using text to communicate with his viewers during the video. His emergency situation videos came to be the most popular ones gaining millions of views and thousands of new subscribers.
On June 30, 2019, the first Weekly Dose of Aviation video was uploaded. Lucas started varying his content and rarely uploaded any more X-Plane 11 videos. GTA 5 became a big part of his channel again as he started playing FiveM, a modification that allows you to play multiplayer with mods. Lucas revealed his voice after reaching 300,000 subscribers on September 27th, 2019, in a video of him hosting a trivia on his Discord server.
After his voice reveal many other games appeared on the channel, including Just Cause, Minecraft, BeamNG.drive, and War Thunder. These videos all had a common theme of showcasing the aviation related parts of each game.
Weekly Dose of Aviation[]
The Weekly Dose of Aviation series became a big part of his channel as the videos gained popularity. The series is still continued and is uploaded every Sunday. The episodes are usually around 3 to 4 minutes long.
The weekly episodes consist of Lucas showing the viewers ten aviation related clips gathered from the internet. He always gives the viewers some context about what is happening in the video before showing each clip. The viewers can submit their own videos to get featured in an episode.
He has mentioned Daily Dose of Internet as an inspiration for his series.
