―Lydia Violet (while chaos ensues) |
Lydia Wilson[2][3][4] (born: January 21, 2003 )[5][6][4], better known online as Lydia Violet is an English[7][8][4] YouTuber and Twitch streamer who is primarily known for her comedic moments and playing video games on her livestreams. She currently resides by London, England[9].
Lydia Violet’s main YouTube channel features a variety of content, predominantly comedic in nature. She engages her audience with "You Laugh You Lose" challenges and reactions to text-to-speech messages from her Twitch streams, as well as internet memes. Additionally, her channel includes IQ-test style videos that showcase her problem-solving skills, or lack thereof[10] for comedic relief. Lydia’s self-deprecating humor[11] is a recurring theme throughout her videos.
Lydia Violet, as a Twitch streamer, engages with her audience through “Just Chatting”[12] segments and a narrative-driven approach to gaming[13], rather than competitive gameplay.

Lydia Violet launched her Twitch streaming career while in Bali on July 29, 2021[15]. Within a week, by August 5, 2021, she had already gathered 1,083 followers and an average of 89 viewers, which led to her being granted Affiliate[16] status after only seven streams and 31 hours of streaming. Her rapid growth continued, and by November 29, 2021, just four months after starting, she achieved Twitch Partner status, which she celebrated with an almost 24h subathon on December 4, 2021[17]. At that time, she had accumulated 313 hours of streaming across 76 sessions, supported by a community of 5.5k followers and 656 subscribers.[28]
Lydia Violet hit the 300k followers milestone on Twitch November 14, 2023[29], and was nominated for the Sapphire Award at the annual Streamer Awards February 18, 2024, where she also presented the award for the Best Chess Streamer, won by loltyler1.[22]
YouTube[]
Lydia created her YouTube channel on June 19, 2022. Her first short, titled "Lucky Grandma 😏", was uploaded on November 2, 2022, and her first long-form video, titled "Live Stream Fails That Made Chat Wheeze", was uploaded on November 19, 2022.
On April 27, 2022 Lydia created her second YouTube channel, called lydiavioletclips. This channel features unedited clips taken from her Twitch streams, and while the clips are all shorter than 1min in length due to Twitch clip limit, they are uploaded as regular longform 1080p videos. Her first video on this channel was "Lydia Violet shows off her cable management", which was also featured as her clip used when she was nominated for the Sapphire Award at the Streamer Awards.[22]
Content[]
Main Channel[]
Much of Lydia's content are shorts and highlights from her livestreams on Twitch, where her viewers and audience will donate to her and tell her dirty-minded or double-entendre jokes, riddles, "IQ tests", or trick her into making these jokes. Examples of these include saying repetitively saying "I won a math debate" quickly (which sounds out like something dirty), or her pointing to her forehead and abbreviating "mountain" as "Mt", which seems like she is calling herself empty-minded.[30]
Lydia's content also consists of compilations of memes where she will try not to laugh, one of which she shocks herself whenever she laughs[31], or reviewing ban appeals from her Twitch chat and deciding whether she will accept or deny them.[32] She also watches videos with distracting people in it, and then asks her viewers about a specific detail of the person in the video to see if they paid attention to something else.[33]
Clips Channel[]
The content on Lydia's clips channel started out posting short 15-60second 1080p videos (not shorts) that were clipped directly from her live streams by viewers, and posted unedited. They typically contain footage of Lydia saying something funny, weird, confusing, or very far fetched. The channel has since expanded to posting actual shorts[34] and also larger segments from the streams[35].
VODs Channel[]
The "Lydia Violet Vods" channel contain full-length VODs of streams originally done on Lydia's Twitch channel. Postings on the VOD channel started at the beginning of Lydia's "stream every day for 180 days"[36] challenge. VODs from these streams are usually posted the day after the stream.
Trivia[]
- Lydia posts various gifs of herself dancing or moving in her livestreams on her YouTube community tab. These gifs are also accompanied with her thanking her viewers and subscribers for their support and shoutouts of her monthly new members.
- She has featured her father in one of her videos.[37]
