Micro-Star International Co., Ltd (abbreviated MSI) is a multinational computer hardware manufacturer headquartered in the Zhonghe District of New Taipei City, Taiwan. MSI has a YouTube channel known as MSI Gaming.

History[]

MSI was founded on August 4, 1986 by Joseph Hsu, Jeans Huang, Frank Lin, Kenny Yu, and Henry Lu. The company first began manufacturing motherboards for custom computer builds, which spanned for 13 years. In 2000, MSI began expanding and established a plant in the Bao'an District of Shenzhen, China. In 2001, MSI established a research and development facility in Kunshan, China. In the 2010s decade, MSI continued to expand globally, establishing branch offices in the Americas, Europe, Asia, Australia, and South Africa.

MSI gained further recognition in by the mid-2010s decade and began releasing specialized gaming laptops with NVIDIA GeForce GPUs, a technique that would compete with Alienware, ASUS, and other known brands. As the 2010s decade wore on, the popularity for MSI began to rise to stardom by releasing a wide variety of products, such as specialized motherboards, desktops, graphics cards, monitors, keyboards, mice, headsets, chairs, and controllers.

MSI has sponsored various eSports affiliates such as Fnatic and Cloud 9. Several known eSports teams would endorse MSI and use equipment manufactured by the company.
