Matan Even (born: April 23, 2007 (2007-04-23)^{[citation needed]}), also known as The Bill Clinton Kid, is an American^{[citation needed]} YouTuber infamous for crashing several ceremonies/events/shows on TV.

Content

His first video was an interview with Owen Shroyer of InfoWars, where Matan went into detail about the plight of the 2019 Hong Kong protestors. He would continue to upload videos about his interviews with other YouTubers, as well as videos related to his appearance at the 2022 Game Awards. Apart from commentary, he also has a video on his channel where he plays Elden Ring.^{[citation needed]}

On Twitch, Matan often streams his opinions on American politics amongst gaming streams of Elden Ring and Minecraft.^{[citation needed]}

Collaborations

After his appearance at the Game Awards, Matan would be interviewed by many other creators about his actions, such as ShortFatOtaku and Lilith Lovett.

Matan has also taken part in a debate with Steven Bonell. Others he has collaborated with include SNEAKO and NeonSniperPanda.

Apart from YouTuber interviews, he has also been interviewed by news sites Polygon, Forbes and Kotaku amongst others.

On June 31st, 2024 Matan had comedian Sam Hyde on his podcast for an interview. The taping did not go as planned when 20 Indian men and some homeless Mexicans began showing up to the recording set. Sam and his crew had already planned for them to show up, having paid each one of them 150$ for the day.

Controversies

Hong Kong incident

Matan first gained international attention by waving a "Free HK" TV at the Clippers 2019 home opening game. This led to him to appear on a few news stations.

Blizzcon Incident

During Blizzcon 2019, Matan interrupted a panel shouting in support of Hong Kong.

2022 Game Awards Incident

On December 8, 2022, during the Game Awards, after Hidetaka Miyazaki and the FromSoftware team accepted the Game of the Year Award from Geoff Kieghley for Elden Ring, Matan managed to sneak up on stage and when he was close enough to the microphone, announced "Hey, my turn. You know, real quick I want to thank everybody and say that, I think I want to nominate this award to my reformed orthodox rabbi, Bill Clinton. Thank you everybody".

Viewers who were both present at the event and watching the livestream were confused as to how Matan, someone who wasn't part of the FromSoftware staff or Game Awards staff, managed to bypass security. Many theorized that FromSoftware saw Matan but assumed he was part of the Game Awards Staff, while the Game Awards Staff saw Matan and assumed he was associated with FromSoftware. Matan himself later said that he agreed with this hypothesis.

Geoff Keighley later tweeted that Matan was arrested.

This event resulted in a lot of memes instantly circulating the internet, jokes ranging from about how Bill Clinton had received more nominations than certain games to the lack of security of the awards.

After the incident, the Game Awards would remove mentions of Matan from all future broadcasts. Due to notability rules and article deletion results, Matan's name cannot be mentioned in The Game Awards' Wikipedia entry.

Worker's Strike protests

On May 4, 2023, Matan uploaded a video on Twitter of himself and a friend attending the Worker's Strike protests. Matan and his friend held signs that said "We Love Landlords (surrounded by hearts)" and "Landlords (surrounded by hearts)" respectively. Matan chanted "Landlords! Landlords! Landlords!" and said that unions were unfair to corporations in front of Hasan Piker.

Later that day Hasan tweeted "this little man’s brother manager BEGGED to link up w me at the @airrack shoot and collab and when i said no thanks they crashed a picket line. get a new bit." and "i asked you to step aside politely for the adults to picket and you said i was threatening you, i cant be the father you never had little buddy.", to which Matan replied "You tried to scare me by getting in my face, then you shoved a pole at me like a little bitch. I asked if you were threatening me because of how pathetic you looked. There’s a reason your cameraman panned away".

• Apart from speaking English, Matan can also speak Hebrew.
• Matan is often thought to be French; this is because when he appeared at the Game Awards he spoke with a thick French accent. In his older videos, he had a different accent. According to Matan, his accent is completely natural.
