MeiMei (birthday: July 1), formerly known as Meipon, is a Danish YouTuber, VTuber, animator, and gamer.
About[]
Her content consists of animation videos done in MikuMikuDance, gaming (osu/sims, etc.), and unboxing, tho currently she focuses on only animations.
She has experience in MMD since 2009, which includes animations, images, editing 3d models, etc.
Twitch[]
Since May 2021, she has been very active on Twitch as an VTuber, and streams multiple times a week. She has stated she slowly lost enjoyment from MMD, and streaming have brought her more joy. She enjoys streaming Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact 3rd, rhythm games, and minecraft. After adopting a VTuber persona, she calls her viewers "Cranes", as in origami cranes, and have 💮 as her oshi mark.
Since April 2022, she has slowed down streaming due to her chronic illness reappearing, causing flare-ups, tho states she will stream when she has the energy.
Her Twitch is seen as a safe place, for both those dealing with mental health, such as autism, PTSD, and anxiety, and for chronic illness'.
VODS[]
On July 7, 2021, she opened a second channel, MeiMei VODS, for all her streams on Twitch.
Inactivity[]
On September 17, 2020, she posted on her YouTube Community Tab, that she had been rather inactive. This is because she had tried to distance herself away from the Japanese culture for personal issues, but she stated she is slowly coming back to the MMD community. While being inactive on YouTube and Twitch, she has been extremely active on Fandom wikis, such as Produce Camp Wiki. She has since returned to Japanese culture
Her reason for inactivity on twitch is simply her connection has been terrible, and she hopes to stream minor things in the future.
Outside YouTube[]
Other than YouTube, she is rather active on Twitter, Twitch, Fandom, and Chinese sites Weibo and Bilibili.
On Fandom, she is a wiki editor, which specializes in organizing pages, files, and categories, and as of September 2020, she has done over 48,000 edits over several wikis. She is currently an admin of her own wikis around Chinese survival shows and user her graphic design education to create illustrations etc.
Name Change[]
On November 17, 2020, she announced on her community tab that she have changed her channel name to "MeiMei" which is her current online name. In this announcement, she also showed off her new persona 3D Model.[1]
Trivia[]
- She was studying Graphic Design in her third year.
- She announced in October 2020, that she had to stop due to her chronic illness.
- Her interests are Japan, Japanese folklore, Fandom editing, and gaming.
- For gaming, she enjoys idle games, GTA V, and Final Fantasy XIV.
- She listens mostly to J-/C-/K-Music
- She is on the Autism spectrum with Asperger.
- Her special "focus" is East Asia, but currently China, which she is learning the language of.
- With her autism, she is extra sensitive and has hypermobile joints.
- She also deals with social anxiety, depression, and chronic Ulcerative colitis.
- After she distanced herself from Japanese culture and community, she has changed her screen name to MeiMei or simply Mei on Twitter, Instagram, and Discord.
- The Dekyuu in her usernames are the Japanese sound of a bat.
- She has since changed it to dreamy, as a point for her love of dreamy pastels.
