John D. Boswell, better known online as melodysheep, is an American musician, filmmaker, VFX artist, and editor who uploads film and music on his YouTube channel. His work spans from television and music production to viral remixes and mashups, and has drawn over a quarter billion views online. He is from Washington State.

Origins: The Journey of Humankind[]

In 2015, Boswell conceived of ORIGINS, an eight-part series giving a cinematic look into the history of mankind. It premiered in 2017 on National Geographic, in 171 countries and 43 languages.

These remixes are basically musical vignettes that pay tribute to Boswell's favorite icons, films, and videos.

Science Shorts[]

These are short mashups designed to evoke the vast universe and human history. All of the concepts, music, and editing, is made by Boswell.

PBS Icons Remixed[]

In 2012, Boswell collaborated with PBS on the launch of their Digital Studios platform, with the launch of the Icons Remixed series - musical tributes to legends of PBS including Mr. Rogers, Bob Ross, and Julia Child.

He chose this name from a Family Guy episode he watched as a teen. To quote him, "One of those random screen names you choose that ends up following you".[1]
