Controversy[]
Feud with Eminem[]
Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly have had an ongoing feud for several years. In response to eminem's diss "Not Alike" from August, 2018, Kelly released a diss track titled "Rap Devil" in September 2018; both songs were produced by Ronny J. Kelly continued the feud at a concert, calling it "a battle between the past and the f*cking future". The song's title refers to Eminem's 2013 song "Rap God" and Eminem went into the studio days later to record his own response, as did former D12 associate Bizarre.[1] Eminem responded with "Killshot" on September 14, 2018 and Bizarre's "Love Tap" was released on September 20. "Killshot" garnered 38 million streams on YouTube in its first 24 hours and over 80 million views in its first week, making it the most successful debut for a hip hop song and the third-biggest debut in the platform's history. The track also debuted at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2018, making it Eminem's 20th top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. Eminem released "Guilty Conscience 2" on the Album The Death of Slim Shady in July, 2024, which also addressed Kelly. Kelly has continued the feud publicly.[2][3]
