Mickey Mouse is an American[1] animated television series produced by Disney Television Animation.[2]

Development[]

Artist and co-creator of the Cartoon Network television series Sym-Bionic Titan, Paul Rudish, developed the series. He is also the series' executive producer and supervising director, while the series' art director is Joseph Holt.[3] Mickey was voiced by Chris Diamantopoulos instead of Bret Iwan, since the series' producers wanted a voice that was similar to the voice Walt Disney used for Mickey.[4]

Series[]

The pilot episode, named "Croissant de Triomphe", released on Disney.com on March 12, 2013, as a special preview.[2] The series officially premiered on Disney Channel and YouTube on June 28, 2013.[2] The second season premiered on April 11, 2014,[3] the third season premiered on July 15, 2015,[5] and the fourth season premiered on June 9, 2017.[6] The final, fifth season premiered on October 6, 2018.[7]

To coincide with Mickey's 92nd anniversary, the series was succeeded by The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse, which premiered on Disney+ on November 18, 2020.[8]

YouTube channel[]

The channel was originally named "Disney Shorts"[9] when it was created on March 12, 2008.[10] The channel started to upload long-form videos on June 22, 2012[11] and shorts on November 18, 2021.[12]
