Mikhail_MK (Russian name: Михаил МК) is an Ukrainian animator YouTuber and a game developer. Mikhail makes satirical surrealist cartoons set in post-Soviet settings. They are usually characterized by dark humor, violence, trashy aesthetics and absurdity. Main character are usually gopniks, academics and sex workers.
Mikhail uses Adobe Animate and Adobe Premiere Pro for animation. For voices, he uses Google's text-to-speech.[3]. Most of videos are originally made in Russian, but have English subtitles. This caused problems with copyright claims of TTS tool and some sound effects.[4]
In December 2020 he released Bomjman, a side scroller shooter based on eponymous cartoon.

- Blue Mushroom: two gopniks are looking for eponimous Blue Mushroom, because they believe in city legend that if you spit on it, a genie will appear.
- Oksana and Merchant: centers on a little girl, Oksana, who discovers a pistol next to a dead policeman, after which she grows violent. A sinister arms dealer later reveals a conspiracy involving evil scientists.
- On Spikes of Death: People have been disappearing. After an attack on an important big-wig the police finally start investigating. The investigation becomes darker and more dangerous than expected, because there is involvement of a serial killer hedgehog. In 2018 in partnership with Russian TV channel 2x2 it was remastered with new soundtrack and professional voice acting.[5]
- Deathly Downfall: hikkikomori looks for a job, but gets abducted by a secret society and turned into super-soldier.
- Death-added tax: follows a mechanic, whose family and employer were killed by federal tax agency, after which he plots revenge.
Hobotnya[]
Hobotnya is a serial slapstick comedy centered on adventures of three gopniks and their father, military Captain. Plotlines involve a government official installing a tower that beeps over all swearing, a conspiracy of evil scientists multiplying money, and doing 4 good deeds for Ded Moroz.
Personal Life[]
In 2022, following the war in Ukraine, Mikhail MK published a statement on VK expressing shock and anger at the war. He described experiencing missile strikes in his city, criticized the Russian government and its leadership, and voiced support for those opposing the war.[6]
