Bernhard Kast[citation needed], better known online as Military History Visualized, is an Austrian[citation needed] YouTuber who makes videos about military history.
Personal life[]
Bernhard served the mandatory military service in the Austrian Army.[2]
Academic qualifications[]
Bernhard has a Master of Arts in History, and a Bachelor and Master of Science in Computer Science, both from the University of Salzburg, Austria. Bernhard completed an internship at the Militärgeschichtliches Forschungsamt (Military Research Institute) in Potsdam, Germany.[3]
Book[]
With Military Aviation History, Bernhard is the co-author of Stuka - The Doctrine Of The German Dive Bomber, an annotated collection of original sources used by the Luftwaffe for the Junkers Ju 87 Dive Bomber. It is translated, and does not include the original German text.[4]
YouTube[]
Bernhard originally wanted to create an English and a German language channel, but found the workload too high.[5] Some videos are uploaded to Military History not Visualized, when visualization is inefficient. Non-visualized videos are also faster to make (45 hours compared 1.5 hours of production time per minute of video), allowing more time to be spent on research.[6]
Since June 2016, almost every video has cited mainly academic books as sources, where possible.[7]
His Silver Play Button says "Military History," rather that "Military History Visualized," due to length restrictions.[8]
