Mio Ookami (birthday: August 20) is a Japanese VTuber affiliated with Hololive. She is part of the group Hololive GAMERS, along with Korone Inugami, Fubuki Shirakami and Okayu Nekomata.

After her debut, her next stream was a chatting stream, and she would often invite Fubuki as a guest to collaborate in her videos. Mio is known for being a great singer, and on June 30 2019 she released a cover of SPARKLE along with Okayu that became her most viewed video^[1]. She has also dabbled with fortune telling and tarot reading^[2], and invites other members to share their uneasiness and doubts, on these streams Mio also gives advice, but sometimes other members ask for her tarot reading off stream. The first games she ever streamed were Super Mario Party and Splatoon.

Collaborations[]

Mio and Okayu covered Otona no Okaite together, which became Mio's most popular video. Okayu tends to pull pranks on Mio but despite this Mio cites Okayu as a good friend who gives the right advice.

Fubuki and Mio were school friends and Fubuki was the one who introduced her to Hololive^[3].

Mio has very poor English speaking skills, hence her lack of collaborations with HoloEN. The only time she has ever collaborated with any of them was Kiara, when she appeared on an episode of HoloTALK, due to Kiara's fluency in Japanese. She also has interacted with Baelz at times (who's also heavily fluent in Japanese), and nicknames her "Shaketaro".

Mio is also Noel Shirogane's singing coach.

She has also played Among Us with Hololive Gamers, Botan, Kanata, Sakura, Polka, Rushia, Subaru, Luna and Marine, and Garctic Phone with Fubuki, Okayu, Aqua, Marine and Shion^[4]^[5].

Baelz calls Mio her "JP mama". She also calls Ollie her "ID mama" and Fauna her "EN mama".

Mio herself has also appeared in games, as in Hololive's Azur Lane collaboration, she was available from 27 November to 10 December as playable character.

She was also playable in the game Dawn of the Breakers.

Marine, Shion and Mio were part of the Hololive x Family Mart partnership.

In-jokes/memes[]

Mio likes playing games that are simple to follow and don't have convoluted lore such as Fall Guys, and is terrible at horror games, getting terrified easily. This has become a running joke between her friends and referenced in several animated shorts.
Among her friend group, Mio is dubbed the "mom friend" due to her relentlessly kind personality, even among the already enormously friendly hololive staff, with both fans and peers frequently seeking her personal advice and opinions.
- During a formal vote between Hololive talents on who would make the best mother, Mio ranked first place.
- Due to Generation Five having their own mom friend, Lamy, Mio is dubbed "grandmother".
She is nicknamed "Mio-mama". Her other nicknames include Miosha, Mion and Kurokami Omi.

Her character illustrator is Aya Izumi^[6] and her 3D Designer is Yatsurugi.
Mio is afraid of needles and tried to get out of a blood test when she was at a hospital. Later she recounted that the experience didn't hurt as badly as she expected it.
Mio is 155cm.
Mio has her own cat, a ragdoll named Taiga, who has appeared several times on streams.
On 5th August her channel was temporarily suspended due to claims of copyright strike , but it was later lifted and her channel came back.
Mio, is a devout believer of the "NoPan Health Act", stating that it is healthy for one to sleep at night without any underwear. She claims she was passed this knowledge on by her mother and grandmother.
