Moona Hoshinova (birthday: February 15) is an Indonesian VTuber affiliated with hololive. She is part of its first generation of Indonesian VTubers, alongside Airani Iofifteen and Risu Ayunda.

Content

Moona debuted on 11 April, 2020. Her earliest song covers were of the Coca Cola song and Again, and sometimes made her own, though they were largely shitpost-esque as the first original song was about how she graduated from university and never wanted to see her school again. Some of her songs, singing streams and chatting streams are in Japanese and Japanese only. A month after her debut she garnered around 500,000 Subscribers.

When she was new to YouTube she would stream games like Scribble.io, Left 4 Dead 2, APEX Legends and Dreadout 2. She has also streamed One Hand Clapping, Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, Marvel Future Revolution, Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom, Yakuza 0, Burger Bistro Story, It Takes Two, Super Bomberman R Online, World of Tanks, Catlateral Damage, UNO, Bullets Per Minutes, Garctic Phone, Ring Fit Adventure, Tales of Arise, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Diablo II, Hogwarts Legacy and Cyberpunk 2077. She has also played fangames like Memories of Moonlight.

For Ramadan 2021, Moona made a special livestream series called "Mamah Moona" during where she gives advice to her fellow Muslim viewers, answering viewers problems based on her experience, and room reviews. She also has tried to learn Russian via Duolingo. She is also a LEGO collector, and held streams where she unboxed her Harry Potter Hogwarts sets.

Her debut stream was initially her most viewed video, however it was dethroned by her cover of K/DA's Villain.

Collaborations

She shone at Minecraft, where she was extremely skilled at building, to the point Pekora Usada recruited as her first employee in her company Usada Constructions. Moona then recruited Kanata Amane as the second employee. Her streams of A Way Out have featured Reine and her illustrator Iida Pochi and she has played It Takes Two with Subaru, and her cover of SAIKAI - LiSAxUru featured Suisei Hoschimachi.

Moona tends to refer to VTubers she is close to as her "wives", but has refrained from calling Ollie her wife as she thinks Ollie is way too much into her. Ollie has also seen Moona naked in the shower, and according to her, Moona has the figure of a model, though Moona's own mother considers her butt and thigh to be too big and told her to lose weight. Ollie also expressed a desire to touch her boobs.

In Minecraft, Reine is Moona's apprentice and the two collaborate frequently in multiplayer games.

Other VTubers who she has played Minecraft with include Yua, and cite Artia of HololiveCN. Independent VTuber Lyrica would also regularly collaborate with her and Hololive Indonesia's first generation. Moona, Lyrica, Yua and Serotonina have played UNO and Overcooked 2 together. Due to their close friendship, Moona invited Lyrica to be part of Hololive Indonesia, but Lyrica rejected her request, saying she would only join if a Hololive had a Southeast Asian branch established. Moona also appeared in the chat of one of Millie Parfait's cooking streams.

She has also played Minecraft with her fellow VTubers illustrated by Nyori in June of 2021 - Iku Hoshifuri, Uten Hiyori, Meiko Amau and Nato Tsukinami. She also made a surprise appearance in one of Mana Renewal's Minecraft streams, and featured her in two of her Russian language learning streams.

She collaborated a lot with Gura, Amelia and Pekora when she was new, though most of her collaborations are with her fellow Indonesian VTubers, particularly Risu and Iofi. Moona, Sana and Kronii have played Minecraft, and she and Baelz have played Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes. Moona and Pekora have played Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes and covered Turing Love - Nanawoakari together.

Moona was also part of the Holostars x HoloID Among Us collaboration and part of the HoloENxID Mario Kart Tournament.

Design

Her character designer is Nyori, who is also the character designer of Iku Hoshifuri, Yukine Miya, Agato Yo, Amau Meiko, Uten Hiyori, Chlori Sano, Nato Tsukinami and Nikki Rei. She has played Minecraft with most of the VTubers designed by Nyori and even joined their Minecraft server.

Moona is 165cm (5'5).

Her original/base modeler is Jujube and her second costume was made by Hatyati.

She has a fang, but it is barely visible.

Lore

"Moon Moon~ Moonafic Dayo!" On some rare occasion, Moona’s stream might be visited by Moona’s “another personality,” Hoshinova. That has deeper big sister-like voices and sadistic tendesion. Pay attention to her streams to meet Hoshinova!

• She is a university student and model. However Moona does most of the streaming as Hoshinova is at university.

Fandom

Her fanbase is dubbed "Moonafics" (it means "Moona Fanatic"). Ironically "Munafik" means "hypocrite" in Indonesian; according to Moona herself, this was intentional. Channel members can get access to her ASMR streams.

One of her brothers was a huge fan of her and would superchat her regularly professing his love for her, not realizing that Moona was his sister. Moona eventually confronted him about it.

Personal Life

She is mixed race. Her father is mixed Malaysian/Dutch whereas her mom is Indonesian. Moona mentioned that she lived in a foreign country for most of her life and only came back to Indonesia for college.

She has a younger brother, two younger sisters and three older brothers. She has a niece who sometimes wanders in her streams during babysitting.

Moona was a fashion model and an idol pre-Hololive. When she applied to Hololive, she initially thought they were just an idol agency that had nothing to do with VTubers.
